I suspect Vic is pretty relaxed about signing but his agent has worked himself up into some sort of frenzy.

If an offer attractive to Victor (and his agent) comes in, we are dead in the water. Although I think we may choose to let Pelle get into his last season**, I can't see that with Wanyama....especially as he doesn't take rejection well. To miss our Europa game after all the excitement of qualifying shows his heart isn't here.

    **Purely my own thought...no evidence.

from what we know, Spurs was the only offer on the table last summer. I don't believe they've recruited anyone in that role, but both Dier & Dembele have formed a great partnership. With champions league football I suspect they'll be looking to build their squad.
We now don't have the upper hand, so if Spurs are the only option, we maybe forced to deal with small pockets because like Fran says Vic and his agent won't sign the contract with an offer on the table from a club that will pay them more.

There are times - a lot of times - where I would gladly see us sell him rather than have him sign a new contract. And then he's goes and has those stand-out performances (ie the 45 minutes vs Liverpool in this case, hands down my MOTM), which make me want to reconsider.

I'd love to keep him because he is an asset for us, but I can also accept that he isn't the be all and end all for us.

Ffs don't sell him to spurs. Tell spurs to eff off, then pursue legal action against them for tapping up.

The trouble is that players who want to leave will only do so for more money and European football- which means that discounting the top three, the other possible destinations are bound to be our competitors for top 6. I just want us to get new signings on longer contracts to keep them here another year whilst their stock rises. WRT Vic, he is a player like Mané who once his head is turned seems to lose form. Contrast that with Morgan who took a moment and then was brilliant all season. i am not sure if he is capable of knuckling down but I would love him to stay if a deal can be done to keep his head straight for another year.

Victors destination will be anyone who will pay more than we do so assume his agent is crawling all over Spurs, Liverpool, West Ham, Everton as well as the Big Boys to get an offer slough I think his disciplinary record may work against him a little but his agent will say that is just a one off season because he is so unhappy to still be at SMS when he wanted away last summer
I would be very surprised (but pleased) if Big Victor remains with us as we are not paying anywhere near the wages of the majority of premiership clubs
