Not been a problem for the u23's this season. Its the staying winning part thats the issue.
Surely it is time for Jake to be in that first team squad. If Steve Davis is (as he seems to be) having less of an impact on the team, this fella could be the natural replacement and, given time, an upgrade.
He’s got the neat little touches Davo has, with the addition of being able to rifle one in the top corner. He always reminded me of Lallana and now I see a mix of Davo and Lallana.

The U23s needed that result....relegated to division 2 last season, they have been hovering near the bottom of the table this season. Now 4th from bottom. A good omen perhaps

I think he has the complete game to become the attacking midfielder we have lacked since Lallana departed and should be part of the first team squad.
Even if he doesn’t get game time during the relegation battle, it would build his confidence.
I’m waiting to see if Slattery also steps up, as there was so much hype around him, with Arsenal believed to be tracking him before he signed professional forms.
His goal yesterday was really sweet, passing it into the corner.
He's also a couple months short of 22; we either need to find him opportunities in the first team, or we need to move him elsewhere. He can't idle in the reserves forever.
MP2 should also be aware of the old English saying, “Slattery gets you anywhere”
