At the End of August, if Saints get Promoted, What would be your realistic 25 Man Squad?

Goalkeepers: Paul Robinson, Kelvin Davis, Bartosz Bialkowski

Centre Backs: Matt Upson, Jos Hooiveld, Jose Fonté, Aaron Martin
Left Backs: Danny Fox, Dan Harding (Sadly)

Right Midfield: Jason Puncheon, Steeeeve de Ridder
Centre Midfield: Morgan Schneiderlin, Jack Cork, Deano Hammond, Richard Chaplow, James McCarthy
Left Midfield: Adam Lallana, Matty Jarvis

Strikers: Rickie Lambert, Steve Fletcher (Wolves), Billy Sharp, Tad Lee, Victor Moses

Robinson
Clyne Fonte Hooiveld Fox
Jarvis Morgan Cork Lallana
Lambert Fletcher

Bench: Kelv, Frazer, Upson, Punch, McCarthy, Sharp, Moses.

We are Staying Up!

Very ambitious! Won't get Clyne or Jarvis, bigger clubs in for them. Robinson isn't a bad shout, actually. Harding would get ripped to pieces by Mata, Young, Silva ect..

Davis
Bialkowski

Fox
Harding
Fonte
Hooiveld
Martin
Richardson

Lallana
Puncheon
Schneiderlin
Cork
Hammond
Chaplow
Guly
De Ridder

Lambert
Sharp
Lee

That's 19 players of the current squad who I think are worth keeping and registering next season. Obviously there are some great young prospects as well, but they don't need to be registered. This leaves room for 6 signings - 1 in goal and 5 outfield. I'm not going to suggest who those signings should be, as I don't really know how ambitious the transfer budget will be next season.

Paul Robinson is quite a good shout.

My starting 11, not who it will be, but who id like.

Robinson
Frazer, Hooiveld, Wes Brown/O'Shea/Upson, Fox
Lallana, Joey Barton, Schneiderlin, Matt Jarvis
Lambert, Hooper

Subs: Kelv, Fonte, Martin/Shaw, Cork, de Ridder, Sharp, Lee
Could also see Falque coming back on loan to us.

Id imagine if QPR go down we'll do what every promoted side does and buy Shaun Wright-Phillips <doh>

Think the following will leave in the summer: Bart, Jaidi, Holmes, Doble, Reeves (maybe), Barney, Connolly, Dickson, the kids who dont make it (Racine, Dovey, Saville etc.)

Disclaimer: this is my opinion, ive been slated in the past for daring to suggest premier league experienced players over 30, and thats your opinion.

The trouble will be once again whether players want to come to us. I think more will fall over themselves to sign for the Hammers than would sign for Reading or Southampton. Even after 27 years in the top flight, players never see us as a real PL side. Let's hope Cortese's magic can continue.

Id imagine we'll get one or two foreigners we have never heard of. Eg. Tadanari Lees, Gulys etc.

In my opinion we need a right winger, maybe we could go for ince from Blackpool, he put in a good game against us the other week and hasnt looked bad in the other games I have seen on TV this year. I also think we need a new left back and right back because I don't think Hardng or Butterfield will cut it in the prem. I would also add an experienced centre back to keep up the competetion for places at the back. Like others I wold also like another striker or two because I can't imagine barnard or connolly being with us next year.

Davis

Clyne
Hooiveld
Pearce(if Reading don't go up)/ Dawson(WBA)
Fox

Cork
Schneiderlin

Phillips
Lallana
Ince

De Ridder
Prowse
Lee

Loan player
Davis? (Barnsley)
Stephens

I would love Jarvis, but we'd never get him. Firstly, and most importantly, they'll be current Premiership sides already in the queue for him. It'll be hard for us to get past them. Secondly, there's a possibility (some would say strong possibility) that we could find ourselves in a relegation battle next year, should we go. And why would Jarvis want to walk straight into another relegation battle when he's just been through one? A bit like Sharp I guess - turned us down at the start of the season, but was convinced enough to get on board come January. And fair enough.

As I've said a lot on here recently, I'd be starting with:

Davis
Richardson Fonte Hooiveld Fox
Morgan Cork
WINGER Lallana WINGER
Lambert

So whilst your Doyle's and your Fletcher's are decent players, I don't see any room for a second striker in the starting XI. And I wouldn't want to be paying their sort of wages and transfer fees, just to sit them on the bench. And nor would they want to come to a club where they'd be sitting on the bench.

Two very decent wingers, and some decent squad players. The likes of Barnard, Seaborne, Jaidi, Harding, De Ridder, Holmes, Forte - maybe even Butterfield, Connolly, Chaplow, Puncheon, Martin and/or Hammond - I'm afraid would have to get off the bus. But they'd need replacing.

Seeing as we can sign anyone we like, who is realistic:

GKs: Davis, Foster, Bialkowski

RBs: Richardson, Brayford (Derby)

CBs: Fonte, Hooiveld, Martin, Bates (Middlesborough)

LBs: Fox, Harding

L/RWs: Lallana, Guly, Mystery European Signing, De Ridder, Puncheon

CMs: Morgan, Hammond, Cork, Chaplow, Andrews (Blackburn)

STs: Lambert, Lee, Sharp, Rodriguez (Burnley)

25 and u21s are allowed to come and go without being registered.
