Since 1992, Man Utd have won the EPL title more times than Celtic have won the SPL. The only time they lose the league is when another team spends ridiculous amounts of unsustainable cash to try and match them.

The SPL might be pish but it's honest pish <ok>

One word, Fergie.

Good luck to Big Vic, He will become a favourite the first time you see him, people like you don't deserve him though.

Please don't judge us all by the comments of one or two. We certainly wouldn't do that having read some of the comments from Celtic fans in recent years.

Anyway, Celtic is a much bigger club than SFC but you unfortunately you play in a league that is not of the same level as the EPL, by a long way; not your fault but there you have it. You could well be right about us as a stepping stone, but you never know; we live in hope as part of this little dream we are having down here.

See you in the Europa league next season, hopefully.

One word, money. Actually two words, Sky money.
Exactly if Scottish football had the money pumped into it like English football has the leagues would be about equal.
Can't wait until Wanyama pulls on the Soton shirt. Hopefully he will continue to perform how he did at Celtic and in time improve even more.

What's the best league then? La Liga is boring and half the teams are bankrupt and therefore ****e, same with the bottom half of Serie A; Bundesliga is good but it lacks any sort of drama over the last few years, and the less said about Ligue 1 the better. I think it could be argued that Eredivisie was the most exciting top division last season, but most of the time it's not that close, and the teams are just not that good.

Well, in my opinion, I enjoy the Bundesliga. For me, that's the best league. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the EPL too and whilst not supporting an English team, i'll happily sit down each week for MOTD, but I wouldn't describe it as "the best league in the world".

Wanyama's choice is more down to the fact that it was EPL teams in for him and it was EPL teams offering the sort of mindboggling amounts that other foreign teams have the sense not to offer, rather than him waiting for a 'big team' to come in for him. Plus he has 2 scummy agents.

Your team plays in the EPL. Your team, unlike others, is looking like it's going places. It's perfectly normal for you to then think the league your team plys its trade in is therefore the best, as it's going to be the league you have most interest in. I understand all that, but for me, the EPL is the richest but not the best.

Considering the money now in the Premier League, clubs like Celtic could easily become feeder clubs to the richer EPL teams. Would be a pity but could easily happen. Celtic are still bigger than us right now but if we continue to strengthen and grow who knows where we will end up.

All in all, you ****s aren't Hull, which is fine by me <ok>

Hope Big Vic does well for you, as he really has the potential to become an even better player than he has been for us.

The fact you have Boruc as well is a major plus for Celtic fans too. He's a ****ing brilliant goalie on his day and I hope he also puts in a consistent good shift <ok>

No one's debating the quality of the SPL. Like most leagues it has it's good games and bad games, but yes, overall it's pretty **** when compared to other leagues in Europe and elsewhere.

Not sure anyone has denied it either <doh>

You're comment comparing beating Celtic to winning the league is utterly moronic too.

Again, having the most money doesn't equate to being the best <doh>

I think in your fervent desire to chuck your 2 pence in, you've written a fair amount of bollocks. Well done.

No need to get personal about it, I have frequently seen SPL fans insist the quality of their league and go on about how overrated the EPL is so don't tell me no one is debating it. Also what else are the other teams going to achieve other than beating Celtic? The points gap each season speaks for itself, the only other thing they can do is beat their rivals and get into the Europa league. What about the rest of what I said, that the EPL is the most watched team and the richest, should I take that back too? Who is getting delusional now? No need to get so aggressive about it, all I'm saying is its not really worth debating whether the SPL is better than the EPL, doesn't mean I think the SPL isn't worth anything, I would like it to grow and see other teams provide more of a challenge to Celtic, it just doesn't seem to look like its going to happen soon.

Celtic are a monster of a club and saints will never be as big. I just reckon they (Celtic) should play in the english / welsh league, that would be really cool.

Also, English-speaking African players just like to play in the UK because we speak their language and there are fewer racists here than anywhere else.

When you say "best" it's just down to personal preference and how you define the word. Even when we weren't in the EPL, I still enjoyed watching it more than any other league.

Absolutely. As a neutral it's swings and roundabouts really, one season Bundesliga is the best and the next it could be the EPL (2011-2012 last day finish for example).

Sadly, for Celtic fans, we're stuck with the SPL <wah> but with the occasional foray in to the group stages of the CL and, even rarer, beyond.
