I like how agents are openly saying to the press that they have reached personal term agreements with the club BEFORE a bid has been accepted.

I know this always happens in private anyways, but shouldn't there be someone at the FA/SPL/FIFA etc monitoring transfers & banning agents for breaking rules?

I know, stupid bloody question as the laws of the game are a joke and its all one big happy bent family (in most cases).

isn`t it call tapping up if the club has not given permission

Hard to prove, though.

Of course, there is another possibility here: the anonymous source may well be Wanyama's agent(s) again. What better way to put pressure on a team to increase your fee than to 'leak' that there is another team eager to hand over the cash, and now willing to meet Celtic's price as well?

If he chooses Cardiff over us then he's just after money.

In fairness to Cardiff, they aren't lacking for ambition, either. Like us last season, they seem willing to spend heavily on very young, high-upside players...the only question is whether they have nearly the number of Prem-quality players in the squad that we did, because at 7-10m a pop they cannot fill every hole through transfers.

Should I alter the title to something less Saintly..?

Never!

Maybe he thinks they can do a Swansea.

Wherever Wanyama ends up, it seems like Cardiff are trying to do the best bits of what we did to stay up, so fair play. It's probably better than the Reading method. As long as nothing goes too badly wrong I think they will do it comfortably enough, there are quite a few dodgy teams in the league this season who will be battling for a top 17 spot.

I would be surprised if he ended up at Saints now. Cardiff must know what Celtics demands are and also what the player/agent want that we aren't prepared to offer. Would be a massive waste of their time submitting an improved bid if they weren't confident they could get the deal done

You can see his point though. Just a year ago we were all going mental at fans of other clubs failing to realise our ambition and saying that the only reason Ramirez came here was the money. Now we're all doing it to Cardiff.

But that wasn't his point though.

We believe that Saints are going places and we are in our second Pl season, but to an outsider we probably appear about the same as Cardiff. Cardiff is a nice city, but I suspect it will be money that swings it...not the money to Celtic, but to Wanyama and his agent (and I don't blame the player...we'd all take higher wages if we could).
