Not sure anyone applauded his father for this. my like was for saintlyhero's analysis which i assumed was tongue in cheek and the general theme being that it's underhanded.

That said it's the world we live in and we are subject to underhanded tactics so as much as i do not approve i hope we are using them to the best of our ability.
