I still can't believe it. Thought he would have been gone after palace. I'm half expecting/hoping for a 22:45 announcement of someone we've not heard of who is the next Mane.

I'm not on about anything in particular, just in general for about 18 months or so now.

We bid a acceptable bid yesterday apparently, but they couldn't find a replacement. If we wanted him that badly we should have bid earlier and not screwed around to save 4m

According to Blackmore the two clubs agreed a price 'some time' ago?

So Hanni joins Spartak. Was he or wasn't he the Promes replacement? And when does Spartak's friendly kick off because that could be a good indicator of whether we have a chance.

Or, have a CB lined up with the cash. Or something.

And as has been noted, the Russian transfer window doesn't close for weeks. Plenty of time for them to find a replacement; it's almost as if we weren't terribly desirous of spending the money now.

I agree it is level headed, but it is not completely batshit mental to see that something needs to change otherwise we are in serious danger of relegation. A big signing could've been that change. But to change virtually nothing and think we are good enough/it will change eventually is an incredibly arrogant and ridiculous decision for the board to take.
Well there's no doubt they wanted both Walcott and Promes which doesn't really suggest that they thought we were OK without additions, especially after signing Guido too. Like many, i think we should have binned Pellegrino but doesn't it make a change to see a club actually stick with a manager? I'm beginning to find that a little more noble and have talked myself into believing it has happened because everyone at the club has rallied round and is making positive noises. Take this season out of the equation and I find it genuinely difficult to find much fault with what our board have done since our new lease of life.

I do however reserve the right to call for their heads if we don't dick Brighton tonight.

But the rest of Europe pretty much closes today. Hanni was an addition according to Russian media. The reason I can see them wanting a replacement today is because it will be even harder for them to bring anyone in knowing the selling club can't replace the outgoing player.
