Eh, Liverpool famously refused to honour Suarez's release clause and got away with it.

I mean what are we (or Promes) going to do? Take them to court in Russia?

I'd imagine it might scare off a lot of future agents/players from signing any contracts with them.

Don't think they've really done anything that bad have they? I mean yeah, the stuff with the contract and Promes getting some of the fee sounds a bit weird but I'm sure I've heard of similar situations elsewhere.

Doubt it. It hasn't scared players off signing for Liverpool.

My guess is it would need to be Promes who actually took any action - it's a contract between him and Spartak after all so they could easily do something similar to what Liverpool did with Suarez - give him a pay rise for now and let him go in the summer.

Difficult to judge with so much misinformation around, but it appears we have made 3 offers, the player has decided he wants to come (so it is rumoured) yet they want to hold us to ransome to get as much as they can, which will end up with them getting zilch and they will be left with an unsettled player?
