Another job for our Jack where he thinks he's the decision maker? :bandit:

Welcome back Oriol! Loved that his name was one of the first songs sung last night.

I do think we need to temper expectations somewhat in that this won't resolve all our issues but he should definitely have a big impact.

Happy to have him back as seems a good personality to have around and has had a far better playing career than any of the others in our squad have (or will have).

Not sure how much he’ll actually play but definitely a good option to have around and come off the bench to see games out

Let’s see how he does until then shall we? You just never know how a 34 year old is going to get on legs wise. You never lose the touch but the legs go or whatever that phrase is

Fortunately he's never been quick, and his game isn't about that. So I'm hopeful, but wary.

True but he did play 30 odd games last season. And he's only just turned 34.

Same age as De Bruyne, and I'd take him, even if he does only have one leg right now.

Oh yeah I’m not against the signing or anything and hoping he still has enough in the tank to be an asset on the field as well. I just think that he’s mainly been signed for his off the field influence in the dressing room we love so much. Won’t surprise me at all if he starts doing his coaching badges with us with a view to a job when he retires

But anyone thinking he’s better than what we have already from a playing perspective might be in for a surprise and I hope it doesn’t ruin his reputation here because people expect too much

Well, I believe he's looked after himself, rarely shared a big Mac with Matty, Stanley Mathews retired at 50 :emoticon-0105-wink:
And others have said, pace was never his thing, if you're in the right places and you read the game well you don't need to run so fast
The youngsters can do his running

You're right and pace was never his thing, but one of my stand out memories of Romeu was him sprinting half the length of the pitch to catch up with Raphinha who was breaking clean through on a 1v1 with the keeping, catching him up and executing the perfect tackle to cleanly win the ball. I doubt he's got that in his locker anymore.

Just reads the game and knows where to be. Maybe play him behind Jander.

How about 4 at the back, with Oriol in a Pirlo role behind Jander?

    Traffic Cone 1
    Edwards THB Stephens Manning
    Romeu
    Jander
    Fellows Scienza Robinson
    Traffic Cone 2

Love that team but you may get a call from the Traffic Cone Appreciation Society because they don't like their traffic cones insulted like that.
