In fairness this is the one year that we don't really have a finite amount. We're not going to spend 100m.

Well we're not going to spend it in one window but it's only right to keep it earmarked for transfers or bumping up the wage budget.

I'm going against the grain on this one - I really rate him and would be very happy with the signing.

He is raw; but has bags of potential. Good feet, good vision and a good shot on him.

The one time he hit a ball well all season was against us.

He's been good for England U21's as well everytime I've watched them. Don't forget he was playing in an awful Norwich side

I don't think that really works as an argument for wingers - awful teammates aren't to blame for his head-down runs going nowhere and his ball playing being terrible. Even so, with the side being terrible, isn't it a bit of a worry that he couldn't start for them for a lot of the season?

There's an enormous quality gap between the Prem and U21 games. Here's the Wales team he apparently played so brilliantly against: http://www1.skysports.com/football/live/match/307941/teams

A player who's not good enough to start for Norwich is a long way off being good enough to play for us. Maybe he can improve but it's a big maybe. He's a Championship player right now, and not a top one.

Like Dan alludes to with him not starting a lot of Norwich games. A lot of blame has been put on Wolfswinkel and Hooper not getting the goals but like with us strikers need good supply and maybe Redmond's end product was one of the causes for the lack of supply!!!
