Did he have any PL teams showing interest or was he a free agent who could have his pick of clubs?

Perhaps we weren't even in for O'Hare. Perhaps no-one else was. We don't know.
Perhaps he doesn't want to move south.
Perhaps he sees Shefield Utd as a better fit for his skill set.

Just because he's chosen to stay in the championship, doesn't mean he lacks ambition at all. Another recent example - THB dropping back down to the championship last season with us; did he lack ambition then? He had PL interest. Or perhaps these players see these moves as the best, long-term for them?

Nah, I think these type of Saint threads are better. The recent ones are basically started when the player signs which takes away all the speculation and twists and turns from them
That is what the transfer rumours thread is supposed to to be for I assume. As mentioned we are not a big enough club to have multiple single player threads that will get traction and posts unlike the forums for clubs like Man United and Liverpool. Their general transfer threads get hundreds of posts a day and become difficult to track.

Ours gets full of puns, other teams transfers and people unhappy about the loss of 16 year olds who have never played for the club and potentially were never going to

You don’t remember when we used to have multiple Saint! threads where one player was discussed? Those always felt busy, I think the Gaston thread was crazily long

The Gaston one was epic, but I remember the Astori one because it went on for nearly 100 pages and we ended up not signing him!

We had multiple threads for years though without an issue so I'm not sure what you're basing this on.

I could be wrong but I feel like this board was busier back then. I think most fans felt more optimistic about the club's future as well.

Yeah we've definitely lost a lot of people/traffic over the years.

Arguably transfer windows are a lot more dull these days too as most players linked the vast majority of people know nothing about. Except those basing their opinion on football manager and twitter stats of course.

Just thought it odd Greg saying it wouldn't be possible when it was that way for many years.

I think there were more younger posters back then too. I want to say the likes of Dan and Mikey were at college or uni so had loads of time to post and research players. All the online rumours and video compilations on Youtube were kind of a new thing too. Now we've all seen enough dud players with great highlight videos to dismiss stuff like that.

But I prefer the individual threads as well. There's probably been enough talk about O'Riley to justify separating it.

Strange because we are arguably in a healthier place now than we were when SR took over, and certainly our future looks brighter.

EDIT: Ah you mean way back.
