As I've said on the transfer thread, I've seen so very little of Leandro, so simply cannot comment of whether £22m is too expensive or not.

What I can comment on though is Cortese and how much I trust him. If he wants to pay that...

I don't think Damaio is your typical CF either, he does play up top as CF but also plays on either wing (mainly right i believe)... IF we got him id imagine in a few years time we will see Jay Rod up top and Damaio as RS/RW? - Obviously im over thinking this as we may not even get him but just my opinion...

If we were to get him and he has a great season and then plays very well in the world cup, could be looking at a £40m price tag on him?! So like you say its a gamble...

He very much is a traditional CF. I've never seen him play out wide and a look on Transfermarkt confirms this. I'm not sure what type of player you think he is.

For what it's worth I don't think he's worth 22m by any stretch. I assume it's standard highballing but if not, please no.

DEAL CLOSE according to Goal Italy

But also beyond it lives in that of Naples. Among these the strange case of Leandro Damiao, now really close to Southampton which puts on the plate € 26 million just to get to the Brazilian striker after having received the no of Osvaldo. The Azzurri have stopped at 20 and the player still wants to be sure of a square where play (his time in Brazil in Porto Alegre apparently terminated) to not miss the appointment with the world carioca 2014. Higuain in this sense is a lot of fear.

€26m is an awful lot of money.

The new tv deal has the effect of pushing prices up but it will soon settle as the money simply gets passed from one club to the next. The only 'real' impact on football is that it makes the divide between the haves and have nots even greater.

It is a lot of money. But Cortese says he won't pay anything that isn't justified. If it is true, we must rate him very highly.

I think it's pretty safe to assume, there's no way in hell we'll be spending £22,000,000 on a player.
