He broke his wrist twice last year (don’t know whether or not it was the same wrist). This year he had a calf injury in February, but has been fit since April.
Paying after x number of appearances would be a good way to protect against the injury risk. Not sure if Feyenoord would be so keen mind you.

Odd - his transfermarkt value is €13m. And it isn’t the final year of his contract. So I’m not surprised 2.5 was rejected but it does sound like we are potentially getting a theoretical bargain - at least in terms of fee vs potential value. I guess his club needs the money and wages off the bill? By all accounts he was first choice goalkeeper before an injury and most clubs probably can’t carry a reserve goalkeeper on first team keeper wages (although we have for something like 6 years if not longer…)
Something for the “always need something to complain about” brigade then. Because it seems like he has scope to do something mental that might cost us some goals. Just hopefully it’s not something boring and routine that costs us goals as seems to be the case with McCarthy and his passing

Which explains why the last few years have been so difficult to take. I think even in the years when we regularly struggled at the bottom of the league we knew that if we went down it would never be due to the keeper being awful
