I have noticed a severe deterioration in the standard of debate on this forum over the past 2 months, to the point I rarely comment now. You have to wade through pages and pages of childish drivel to see if there is any substance in the posts. Anyone with a contrary view is put down with childish and often offensive comments. Often the boards are monopolised by a small minority of posters having effectively a personal slanging match!

The increase in off topic and low brow discussion has come with the boredom of having no football on and no real news to speak of, I usually steer clear but the Saint Ramirez thread has some fantastic tangents in it. When the season is in the full swing and the transfer window is closed I would expect less of it.
 
This forum has become like the old 606. Nothing useful anymore. It seems to be since last season ended.

I know I'll get the "good riddance" replies, but I really think I may unsubscribe and just view occasionally now. Shame really, as it did used to be a good football forum, that wasn't full of childish crap.

I've noticed that even the 'old guard' don't post much now as all you get is childish personal insults

You probably have a point but by airing this opinion in this thread you're contributing to the problem.

So, are you suggesting that everyone should just ignore it then...why should the ajority have to sift through butt loads of slagging off and stuff to see what they came on for.

When I was in my late teens/early 20's I would have my fix of this down the pub with me mates...I would be more respectiful that not everyone is of this age to bring it on here...as we are clarly not all this age (or mentality).

So in answer to your post - I do not wish to be confrontational but will not tollerate the **** that has gone on lately by a few.

It's funny because most of the clutter is coming from people like you now. I'm sitting here sifting through comments complaining about having to sift through clutter. There's an Inception joke in there somewhere.

That is not how it works. I have chosen as is my right to use the swear filter. Respect that choice and respect my decision to keep words like that away from my 6 and 7 year old. I don't want them to start teaching those words to the rest of this well spoken highly educated council estate!!!

Do you watch South Park? Ridiculous storylines obviously, but that's pretty much how kids talk to each other when adults aren't listening. They aren't angels and the internet has become much more accessible recently so they're less naive than we were not that many years ago. We were constantly effingand blinding and misusing terms like 'gay' and 'spastic'.

Adkins when asked whether the Gaston deal was still on sounded like he was restraining a massive smile, whilst saying how well Cortese is working behind the scenes.
 
Can't the people that want to bitch and bitch and bitch again take it to the my view thread?. This is could be one of if not the biggest transfers of our history, can't we just keep it to the subject of this transfer?.

Joe - I appreciate you are not being confrontational but I cat really agree with you. There will always be disagreements I understand that but at times it is a little too directed at certain people and at other times people are chastised for havig a view.

I read our forum many times a day (and more lately due to the rumour stuff going on) yet I dont post (only about 250 since I joined) mainly due to the crap people recieve from a minority (incl. you amongst others (previously)).

When you say people like me - do you mean people who dont target other people and those who stick to topic

Not a moan just an observation - after all we all have 1 major thing in common...
