Gianluca Di Marzio - Senior Reporter for Sky Italia on this latest issue:

It 'a matter of detail. Between Bologna and Southampton just missing, should be solved the latest rates. Yet to resolve the issue of 5% of the premiums of training, reward the teams that have grown player. The largest share will go to Penarol. There are about 600 thousand people dancing, the Penarol not want to give up the money. The Bologna does not want to pay this amount, the Southampton has already made an effort to get to 14 million for 70% of the card. So this situation should be resolved. Gaston Ramirez also need a permit from the Football Association extraordinary because it is outside the EU, as did 75% of the international game last season as normal. Also because no matter the appearances for the national Olympic team. This permit may be required only in negotiations concluded, must be defined before the 5% of the premiums of training, which are mandatory for the FIFA. It 'sa race against time, Ramirez wants Premier

Ahhh, so thats why nobody else is interested in this player. Freaking grief.

More from Labanti...

DL_corriere: @Saintsareback @RossiSFC @7pickett75 penarol just doesn't want to lose its money in the future

DL_corriere: @RossiSFC @Saintsareback @7pickett75 @tancredipalmeri still no agreement with penarol. deal completed = ramirez 100% saints

Someone over on SaintsWeb has summarised:

Penarol or whoever can only follow the conditions in the contract they had with Bologna. They are allowed a percentage of further transfer fees but they have no power of negotiation. FIFA does not allow multiple owners as demonstrated in the Tevez case for expressly this purpose..

So what ever that contract states will be the rate and Penarol can do nothing about that. This 5% may be a commission to FIFA (as all monies have to go through FIFA). It may be something to do with what is regarded as the actual fee. This will be explicit in the contract and something FIFA can rule on very quickly. Even if this is not explicit it will then fall to the simplest definition and go forward on that basis. Penarol can delay things in the short term but this can be easily adjudicated by FIFA.

In previous cases of sell on fee disagreements it's between the selling club and FIFA. I am pretty sure Penarol cannot stop this going through and Saints just need to pay the Penarol share to FIFA for this to go through. FIFA may adjudicate we have to pay that little more but I really doubt this. The FIFA rules are specifically designed to stop this sort of thing happening, hence why you cannot have more than one owner but you can have contractual sell on fees.

Don't think this has any significance, but Penarol have a player called Enrique BOLOGNA. No word of a lie. Carry on

basically penarol have a 30% entitlement to whatever Bologna receive for the player, hence why Bologna wanted more money from us (the initial hold up).

From Tancredi Palmeri:

For Ramirez, apparently still 600k € to define before deal done between Southampton and Bologna is done.Money to be payed to Penarol

I can understand Cortese's steady up if he hasn't already agreed the 30% sell on clause. That is a pretty hefty amount to lose in a potential deal. I'm guessing Cortese is running situations through his head, relegation and sale at the end of this season etc.

Not sure anything really changes, but we become aware of it. Cortese is probably clear about it and trying to sort it out. It's just the papers/twitter releasing little bits of info that make it appear the situation is sorted and then not sorted. Nicola is acting on a complete narrative and we're judging on post-it notes.

Marcelo Decaux - Uruguayan reporter based in Montevideo:

# Peñarol receive about U.S. $ 2.5 million by the Gastón Ramírez pass to # Southampton in England.

The pressure saints fans will put on this young lads shoulders is immense. Just remember he is only 21 and new to the english game. Still a great player though and will be vital in our survival

That's a bit of a generalization I think, I won't be putting him under any pressure that's for sure.

He'll need to take some time to adjust, but I think we can be safe in the knowledge that we are getting one of the brightest young talents in world football. I tell you what, it makes a change from selling them doesn't it?
