The only way I will enjoy this transfer is if it drags on to the very last minute of the window & Nicola's plan falls into place & we get him on our terms, & not theirs. Failing that, I hope we leave the disgruntled player to annoy the hell out of their chairman.

Take it as dead, but if he signs then brilliant. The worse case scenario is some other club comes in, see what we have put on the table and then ups it.
People seem to think it is just a case of who blinks first, Bologna or Saints. I can see another club coming in that WILL meet or certainly be closer to their demands.
Saving face, no matter which club, can be detrimental to the cause.

It seems our premier league rivals who were interested in Gaston have moved to other targets, and hopefully they get them. I think Juve are the only Italian team at this moment who could rival our offer, and haven't heard of much interest from Spain.
