Seems to backup that tweet then. I'll keep an eye out for more.
 
Went to the Ipswich Blackburn match on Saturday so had a good look at Scott Dann.

For me he looked pretty good, very very strong in the air (headed it almost over the halfway line from his own box most times). I do wonder how much he would add, as Hooiveld is probably a better allround player and aerial dominator. For me what we need is more of a sweeper upper CB with good pace and strength - im not sure how fast Dann really is as he's a big fella - I think we would be better off getting more of an athlete with pace and power to play alongside the Hoover.

Not helpful news but on motd3 that bitter bastard Mark Lawrenson said "theres no way ramirez will go to southampton" you'd never guess he was ex liverpool. Colin Murray was very complimentary to be fair, said he'd love him to come to us and not spurs or 'pool.

If I've got this right, we're resuming talks today after we pissed their president off last week and phoned to apologise on Friday/Saturday. We apparently need to raise the bid to account for the sell-on fee which will go to Penarol, but reports are this will all be sorted and Ramirez will be our player before the Wigan game.

Hard to say. Considering how pissed off Bologna were that Ramirez went blabbing to the media, the rest will probably be very much under wraps until it's all done. I predict that we'll hear nothing new for a couple of days, and then he'll suddenly sign after most people on here are done ripping their hair out.
