This is very exciting, wow, fingers, toes, everything crossed that this gets done officially. Wow.
Gaston Ramirez has said goodbye to his teammates this morning, as he is boarding a flight this afternoon. Bologna are receiving 13m euros and Penarol are receiving 6m euros.
He has chosen Saints due being given the chance to play reguarly, he will receive 2m euros a year in wages. He's coming!!!

Looking forward to the headlines in the press when the deal is done. Hopefully it will cause some pundits to rethink about Saints being relegation candidates.
Think this shows cortese is serious about us being a big player in the future. Each signing has gone on to mention the ambition of the club and people will have to start taking notice now. When someone like Ramirez is buying into this plan now is a huge statement of intent. Even if he did move on in a few years it should be for a huge sum. Plus he is cheaper than we sold AOC for!!!
I have to admit... though we have signed Hazard, Marin, Oscar with the potential of a few more, this lad Gaston Ramirez could be one of the signings of the season. What a piece of business for you Saints! You must all be over the moon! I think you have a great cahnce this season and mid table should be your aim and you should achieve it. All the best with this lad and the season and I look forward to making the trip to St Marys for our Southampton v Chelsea game.

He's not going to be on huge wages, it seems a lot to him because his wages at Bologna were small.
