    I'm fine with the lack of a purchase clause. Would be nice, but if we get promoted he'll still be blocked at West Ham. Have to imagine that he would be plenty signable.

    Look at West Hams pervious big money signings - Haller, Felipe Anderson or Scammaca. All came and went very quickly. The same could well happen to either Jwp or Alvarez.

    Plus Downes could have an incredible season and at 5 years younger than JWP, West Ham may think of the future. Or a new manager might prefer a player like downes due to playing style.

    It really is impossible to predict what things will look like this time next season when there are so many variables.
