The fact here is that these aren't players we'd be targeting. It's simply a case of us wanting to get Dani out and this is the only offer we can get. We'll barely see anything of Schelotto, and probably not much of Taider either. Good to have the depth, but honestly we have youth players I'd pick before them.
We wanted Taider last season before he moved to Inter

He played with Gaston at Bologna for one season by the looks of it.
We've seemingly been rather intransigent about meeting valuations, though. We've been in on a number of players, but have thus far been able to get them over the line (to use Pardew's favourite phrase which was, unnervingly, borrowed by Les recently), and in the cases of Ings/Forster it appears to be related to what we're willing to offer.

I can't quite ever recall our old chairman rocking up with a brief case of cash saying, "how much do you want guys"
Fans have short memories.
No disagreement, but our old chairman still got many of the players in relatively early...the protracted Wanyama saga ended when he signed on July 11th. We have a larger project here, and we're known to have a massive pile of money; the danger is that, as we get closer to the end of the transfer window, prices may rise rather than falling if clubs sense that we're up against it.
I agree with that, but we are at least one month behind this year because of MP going and Ron coming in. You are spot on about the prices possibly increasing the closer we at to the deadline, which is why having the pile of money will help.
All I am saying (in my post with the list of things Ron had to do) is that we do seem to be getting through the check list. It just can't all be done in one go. We are fans and we come on here, pressing F5 in hope more than expectation, that we've done all our business. Last summer we were settled and had the same manager we finished the season with and knew what we wanted. This year was always going to be trickier and tougher. The fans need to sit it out a little longer.
If we get to September and I'm not happy with the squad we've assembled, il be moaning hard.
First I'm hearing of it. He is a decent prospect though, I suppose.
He's called Ezequiel, looks like Jesus, has got a pair of shinpads, and is ready to play for SFC, what's not to like?
Ok guys am I missing the plot here? In our haste to get rid of Osvaldo and save on his wages we seem to be getting in return a player who seems to be rated but will strengthen what is already our strongest position a DM. If I have read that wrong please let me know. More concerning though is a player who most people that have seen him play think is rubbish.
Is the deal money plus 1 or 2 players or is it just a players swap deal. These players will still need to be paid so are we cutting of our nose to spite our face. Filling our squad with players of dubious value.
This transfer doesn't seem to be going in our favour. No **** I hear you say!
