Makes you wonder if Steve Grant is getting fed other titbits to quell the misery on social media at the moment.
He doesn't usually, to be fair. He's close with Sibley because SaintsWeb are an official 'fanzine' of the club and they go back a few years as a result. Hence why media tend to quote/use polls and comments from SaintsWeb rather than elsewhere. Also, I know someone who tried to become an official fanzine of the club and they were flatly refused by Sibley.
Have been for a while, apparently. Since pre-Cortese. As I say, I found this out from someone I talk to often who tried to get this status too.
Steve doesn't claim to have info often, so I think it at least deserves a bit of consideration. Plus, it ties in with what I picked up, Friday and again earlier today.
I don't think he's got a track record like the others, so I'd probably say pinch of salt. I don't know saintsweb too well, though.
You'd think he'd be pretty confident to come out with it, everything to lose and nothing to gain by being wrong on your own website.
Good point. Just interested because I usually skim through the posts over there and don't see his name crop up too many times. I guess we will find out soon enough though.
That makes sense. I think it was 442 Magazine last season in the season preview edition, and the fans comments in the Saints section were from SaintsWeb. And I'm sure I have seen other cases too.
Daily Mail have had Steve on their as the fan to do fan reaction pieces to certain bits of Saints news and also used SaintsWeb polls to show kit approval in the past.
Last time I noticed they were charging a fiver per annum to be a full time member. Mods didn't get paid either..!
