Very good player but don't think he's eligible for tomorrow as he's still subject to a medical. I also have slight reservations about how commited he'll be when faced with a team of nasty midfielders trying to snap his legs....when's the Stoke game just out of interest? Even so I am well happy to have added an extra touch of class to the squad. If our players can start converting the chances he creates then we're on the right path at least. Well done to those that sorted this deal. I bet Buck is over the moon with this one Hope he settles in and falls in love with LFC because if he does we'll have a gem of a player.
what is it with people and wet weekends in stoke as a judgement for players out of spain..... I mean did alonso, torres or reina or even arbeloa ever get questions thusly? this guy is a turk who's played in germany... i think he can cope.
Happy with this! And as I put on gooners board I am not too fussed about lack of an option: The 5 mil loan fee is deductible from any transfer at the end of the season of which we have first refusal (whatever good that is) if Real sell. At the end of the day options and first refusals are meaningless, if Sahin falls in love with the club then a deal will be made (especially with br and mourinhos relationship) and vice versa if he didn't enjoy the club and wanted to go back to real an an option to buy is pretty worthless!
Its got nothing to do with where he's from Mito lad its about the fact he had a career planned out for himself in Madrid and will he want to jeapordise that by going in for 50/50 challenges against some of The Prems more brutal players (the Stoke reference quite obviously being an attempt at humour on my part).
I don't agree, think If he does well and Sahin really wants to play for us then Real would look at options (helps br and mourinho get on) plus where would Sahin fit in reals midfield???
Was a fan of him at BVB, mentioned his name on my wish list before he went to Real. Didn't think he would actually end up with us... even if it was on loan. To captain your club to a Bundesliga title at the age of 22 is not a bad feat at all.
anyone think top 4 is imperative if we are to have any chance of him signing? (even if he falls in love with the club) what price would he likely be, if we was to get him, any one know roughly?
You may well be right Baz and I hope you are. Always been an issue with loan moves for me but as I said he's a class act and I can't wait to see him in a Red shirt even if its just for a year
Surely Aquilani saga has taught us that players do what they want in reality. If we stump up the cash at then end of the season (maybe around 20mil) I think we could have him
True perhaps, but if he has the choice of playing for us or replacing Alonso, which is the player more likely to go for?
I'm only expecting him to be here 1 season. Hopefully this signing is a catalyst in us pushing up the table...then who knows. We might not be able to buy him but it could open the door to more quality next summer.
Can't seeing us buying a striker this summer now. If we fail to find the net on a reg basis by Jan I would hope we move in to solve the problem.
For when we are desperate. I personally feel that our strongest front 3 is the Suarez, Carroll and Borini you mentioned.
I've been quiet up to now as I did not want to jinx it. I think Sahin is world class and could make it as a strong starter in any team (except Real Madrid obviously lol), obviously time will tell. I for one am very exited about this signing and I think the majority of us are actually underrating him! But I guess it is best not to overhype as I am doing .
