  2. I think it may of been on this thread but I said last night that I think (if we get Sahin) this midfield rivals 'the greatest midfield in the world' of Gerrard, Alonso, Mascherano and Sissoko. Bare in mind that that was six or seven years ago and they were unestablished youngsters back then too <ok>

Agree, has the potential to be a perfectly balanced midfield/attack

    ---------Lucas----------
    -----Sahin----Allen-----
    -----------Gerrard------
    Suarez-------------Borini

    (Perhaps Gerrard as false 9)

Even that midfield had problems when one was out though. Especially Gerrard or Alonso. This one has more depth.

I'v thought about this fulse 9 thing to.

I think it could be a great role for Gerrard. Could see a lot of goals.

Congratulations guys on getting Sahin, bit gutted we missed out on him. He is a top quality player and will improve ANY team.

I think the terms of the deal were heavily favoured towards real. The lack of option to buy and a reported £2m !!! loan fee as well as £120k per week wages meant that we were never going to go with it.

    Shame, but there you go.

Good luck for the rest of the season. Hope Sahin scores the winner against Utd <ok>

I think the percentage was high though. I'd read that Real were expecting the loan club to pay up to 95% of his wages.

Thanks although the numbers are up for interpretatoin at this stage. The BBC saying £14m option and a "larger proportion" of wages and £4m fee. but £4m is nothing if it means we get sahin for £14m or indeed if he gets us CL

If not he could make his debut against Arsenal.

Would be even better if we signed Walcott to.

I think he could be good for us. Especially if we adopt a fulse 9 role.
