The big clubs certainly won't which is a piss take.

And they're the ones that can most afford to do it.

They get 3 seasons from promotion I think. Brentford were granted an exemption as the new ground was in pipeline.

Will be some Liverpool fans walking out early in protest of the standing prices…..well I say that.
What I mean is having to stand while making insta videos.

    Some do tbf.

Considering there are clubs that could exist quite comfortably without ticket sales anyway.

I'm only talking about the standing ticket prices btw.

demand will be so high, can’t see them cutting current ticketing levels for similar sitting areas. Plus an extra 10-15% in that area will mean more cash in tills/pies etc.

Yeh you're probably right, I just thought for those standing sections the prices would be cheaper. It would at least allow some folk who've been priced out of ST's to be able to afford one.

Safe standing is the modern adopted system of standing on the terraces, after the decades old discriminative ideology of Thatcher that went hand in hand with papers such as the Daily Malice, constant outrageous portrayal of the football supporter.

The ideology of Thatcher was one of war on the working classes and today decades on we see the consequences of it. All seater stadiums, smoking banned, alcohol within the stands banned, and only affordable by those with a decent bank balance, making it discriminative against the poor, even more so as we move towards a cashless society.

History might neglect to tell us, that this all came about because of Thatcher's bitter war on the miners. People in the future, might see her differently in that was she one of the first steps towards climate change but the truth should never be forgotten, Thatcher wanted to destroy anything and everything that represented a working class person, and that made football her number one target. Most disguised under the banner of health, because something born to new generations is generally accepted as the norm, because they know no different.

For the younger generations, what you never had, you can never miss, but safe standing will be closest that people of today and the future, will ever get to feeling the experience of standing on the terraces in full voice through the 70's and early 80's. The only difference is I'm old now, and quite like my seat at times but it's great to see the changes afoot for future generations.

I like my seat now but nothing beats the buzz of the terrace. Chelsea away games were awesome.

Without a seat, where am I going to find something handy to rip out of the stadium to throw at a player?

    Depends on your age :bandit:

At the Gills I break them down into categories...

Rainham End = Singing end, all ages but the young normally occupy the most vocal section. Would be most suitable for safe standing imho behind the goal.

Gordon Road Stand = The shut up and sit down brigade for all the old codgers.

Medway Stand = Family stand - generally no swearing because of the kids.

Brian Moore Stand (years ago was the Town End) = Away fans but one section for home fans who don't mind the rain.

I normally go in the section that fits my mood on the day but NEVER the shut up and sit down brigade section....unless I get a free ticket. <whistle>

I never use to give it a second thought when I was younger about standing (sitting wasn't really and option), but now at home games I do like to sit. When I've gone to away games you normally get opportunity to stand anyway, hence why away supporters can tend to be the most vocal, normally the hardcore of fans as well. When we played your lot in one of the cups at WHL (we lost 5-0), we stood in our section the whole game, being vocal takes your mind off the actual result. :cheesy:

Being at Newport last week reminded me of your gaff being in a temporary stand though I've not actually sat in yours and it was a lot smaller.
