Today is not the best day to post this, even though you mean good.

I prefer to stand unsafely. My favourite place to stand unsafely is just in front of the yellow line on train station platforms.

Understand the sentiment. But it's actually probably a good thing that this is highlighted on the Anniversary of Hillsborough, because the terraces back then, and the whole management of fans in stadiums are a million miles away from the systems that are in place today.

Hillborough is still used (mainly by fearful politicians) as a reason not to introduce safe standing and it's a complete sham to be honest. It would be like scrapping aeroplanes back in the the early 1900's because some of them crashed.

There are sufficient English clubs with :

    1. home support of a certain size

    2. good records of crowd behaviour/management inside
    and outside their ground

who would make good candidates for trial implementations
    of safe standing sections.

It really should come in soon, there's no real reason to not at least trial it in the next couple of years.

    Signed it.

My ST at the new stadium is in the area in which safe standing will be placed if it's given the go-ahead, will be buzzing if it gets the green light.

  11. Would you stand there? I don't think I would as I had too many close shaves and I'm a boring old git these days. But, if it works and people are happy with it then great.

Standing has always been safe, was for over a hundred years. A disaster was caused by fencing/barriers.
Obviously not that simple but without them it wouldn't have happened, people are not animals to be caged.
