Just popped the FOL directors up. Many names you'll recognize on there. It's more than SAFC supported, lot of local business men and celebrities are involved. Obviously if SAFC have pulled any financial support donation wise it will have an effect but it's has more than just a football club propping it up.
Also it states on the website that Angela Lowes is the finance director. The same Angela Lowes who is a director at the club.
Same thing mate. A board of trusties is just a term for a board of directors to a not for profit company. Check company house, every charity trustee in the country will be worded as a director with company house. The difference is the type of company registered, the Trusties/directors still do the same job.
Can't answer that, she's not registered as such with Company house, unless of course Company House haven't published the paper work yet, but it's no big deal, the club have had many representatives on the FOL board, Short and Quinn being two of them.
I've just found out from the Millennium of Light (FOL office in Concorde Millenium Centre ,Washington) that apparently due to the Business Plan of the new Beacon of Light at the SOL there is a restructuring of the FOL with new job titles being allocated, so it may be a case of staff reapplying for their old jobs. The FOL is the charitable arm of the club and was in its infancy at Roker Park being located in some houses opposite the ground. Bob Murray was highly supportive of its community/educational activities and ensured that it was given a larger presence at the SOL, including classrooms, and the club adopted it. Other clubs have similar community charitable arms. The Beacon has taken it to another level and will provide many further resources for its valuable community work. I am Treasurer for a group in Washington who have been helped by the FOL. Anyone going to the Washington Carnival on Sept 16th [Hull a (btw)] the FOL will have a stand there and my group Washington Support Group for Men (WSGM) will be there. I hope that this helps, Alex
