easily mate, i reckon quite a bit more IIA £20m Addidas £? Stubhub £? Kitbag £? Betbutler £? Hordings £? Programmes £? Match day Sponsors? Ball Sponsors? John Smiths £? Strongbow £? Fosters £? the list goes on and on, this season sees our biggest income from sponsorship in the clubs history by a mile
I did highlight IIA and Adidas(which you mentioned) not other sponsors. I expect your deal with IIA is full of clauses, the better you do, the more money you will receive etc. It wouldn't make any sense a straight deal for £20m when they could probably have got Sunderland to accept half of that or even use clubs that are more well known. If it is proven that it is straight up £20m, then that is a hell of a deal. Just got to hope a certain oil company doesn't get too many more allegations.
My bad for missing the fact it was based on the old sponsorship. Amusing to see the Mag desperately clutching at straws about the deal, which was confirmed by the press, the club, and IIE! IIE were specifically interested in SAFC as we have quite a high profile in Africa from Gyan, Sess etc, wasn't a random pick by them.
You account for sponsorship income over the duration of the contract in the profit and loss account. If it was (say) £30m over 3 years we would only recognise £10m in year 1. If the sponsoring organisation was paying cash up front we would recognise the £30m in our cash flow statement. Cash flow statement and profit and loss account - two different things The stats released by the club were P&L
yes but the main point being they are last seasons figures, so a reflection on tombola and bruce, not IIA and mon and milliband and byrne and a whole host of other things, next seasons figures should be really interesting
Absolutely My post was in reaction to certain skunk thickets who think we should throw £30m into our p&l for a multi season sponsorship deal
well you wouldnt, certainly not last year when we didnt even have it, its supposedly £20m a season IIA according to the club and other media outlets
