So Spurs finishing above Arsenal with us in 4th is unacceptable - but Spurs winning the title instead of City (clearly above Arsenal again) is acceptable ??? Your logic defies reason Jayram. As for SAF - all I can say is Journo hit are raw nerve and Fergie bottled it.
We can agree to disagree but you are WRONG ! In every professional league in the world there have been teams with greater spending power or teams with the prestige factor to buy the best players, there has NEVER been parity since I've known football. Back in the 80s Arsenal couldn't compete with anyone, the best players were going to Man U, Liverpool etc etc, so what is the difference now ? Spain has been a 2 horse race long before money got into football, Italy has been dominated by Juventus, AC Milan and Inter Milan historically. Belgium by Anderlecht, Holland by Ajax. so there are a few new power brokers in town, doesn't really change much to me.
Got to say there was nothing wrong with the question asked by the journo - the only bellend was SAF who basically had nothing to say so walks out like an immature prick. He is quick to criticise but cannot take any criticism at all.
I'd love to see Man City win the league if we can't. Firstly it will piss off Man U. Secondly it will show Chelsea exactly what they did when they won the league and also piss them off. Football is all about money and always has been. Man U won the league so many times (partly) because they spent more than the other teams. Players like Keane, Pallister etc. were out of most teams price brackets at the time. Blackburn won the league by spending big. Same (but to a bigger extent) Chelsea and Man City. Pretty much the only team in the last 30 years to buck this trend is Arsenal, but even we spend far more than the likes of Norwich etc.
You are not a true Arsenal fan if you can ever consider prefering any situation with any variables involved, that would mean us finishing below Spurs!!
Oh please. Spare us the 'you're not a (true/lifelong/loyal/man the trenches) supporter.' Why do you 'fans' keep dragging out this ****?
Listen to the way she pronounces 'Best football supporters in the world' - ****ing pisshead
Surely the same argument (ie buying the league) can be applied to Chelsea, Blackburn when they won (Jack Walkers millions) and to a lesser extent Man U (Ferdinand, Rooney, Nani etc were all bought for very large sums). Tottenham can hardly be described as being afraid to spend large sums either. I'm no Man City fan but to claim that they"re doing anything different from the above is utter garbage and proves you to be a bit of a fool. Also, dont forget the Galacticos, they "ruined" football nearly ten years before City did.....
