I agree with the stance and approach he took. Chelsea is a good comparable as you're a Chelsea fan with an obsession about Manchester United and I'm explaining how the management of United is much more professionally conducted than it is at Chelsea where it's effectively a free for all, hence the constant chaos at Stamford Bridge.
I don't see why you're picking at this, it's been pointed out clearly by more than one person what has happened here. Ferguson has been asked a question. He won't say van Gaal should be sacked, he won't say no comment as it amounts to the same thing so he's gone down the 'managers should be given time' route. Do you think a person in his position should tell the press the current manager should be sacked?
You have to separate SAF the legend and SAF the club director. There I no way on earth that anyone senior connected with the club can make any statement that doesn't chime with club policy, that, for the moment, is that LvG is great and we are sticking with him. The consequences of saying anything else would be a disaster - for one thing, shares in the club would plummet until any new appointment. Regardless of what he might think privately SAF will only ever spout the party line in interviews - however the question is put.
