*Cough* Koeman has mentioned it at least 3 or 4 times. Maybe even half a dozen. He first suffered it in the last home match last season. It's been niggling. Thought it was common knowledge.

Ok, thanks, missed those comments. Maybe only my comments on him from about Jan to April are valid then :)

I also hear he played well Tuesday night when he came on. I don't think I can put myself through the rest of the torture to see that now, as I haven't seen a jot of the game.

Might be worth watching, in the same way that banging your head against a wall can be worthwhile as it's really nice when you stop.

Yeah, this. I feel the same way. I loved Antonio when we had him on loan, but Reading were trying to cash in. We said we wanted him, Antonio said he wanted to stay here. But they overplayed their hand. And then sent him on loan and ended up getting very little for him. Less than what we offered, IIRC.

And in the meantime, we did just fine without him. Look where Reading is now, and where we are. As much as I was and still am a fan of Antonio, sometimes it just doesn't work out. If other clubs are hellbent on being stupid in their valuation of players, then there's nothing we can do but find another option.

Also worth remembering we had a pre sulk Puncheon and Chamberlain coming through, so he was not a player in a position of need at the time.

Antonio has bagged some goals, but I didn't see anything in his performances against us which made me think we missed out on a special player

I agree.

We don't have to sell, so if he is going won't it be Saints who determine the purchase price?

Absolutely. He's got 2 years left on his contract so we don't have to sell if we don't get offered our price (whatever that is). Ronald has said he's happy to put players in the stands if they play up and the players must know him enough by now to know he means it. Even if Sadio called his bluff I would think he would eventually get fed up and come round . We'll set Fonte on him. :)

Sadly another very poor performance from Sadio, wtf has happened to him?
If he is sulking about not being allowed to join one of the Big Boys how the hell does he think playing like he will help him leave us to join a Manure, Bayern or City as the media rumours

He didn't have a bad game today at all Worked hard for the team but if he does not score, people are inclined to judge on that alone. That's not totally unfair because he and Pelle are on the pitch to create and score goals and if they don't....

As I've said before, I don't think Mane is sulking....otherwise he would have started the season like that. Someone on here (can't remember who) said that unlike Wanyama, who can be a bit up himself, Mane is a nice laid back guy. Mane just isn't shining as he did at the beginning of the season....either everything clicked at the beginning or the style of play doesn't suit him. I'm damn sure he would like to score....as does Pelle.

He, like the rest of the team, was pretty ordinary in the first half. 2nd half I thought he recovered his touch and started to offer a real threat. There were times when their defenders couldn't get the ball off him, just like the old Mane. No shots on goal and his final passes got interceptrd, but how packed was their box whenever we got near it?

Come on, who can trap the ball better while falling over? :emoticon-0140-rofl:

That was brilliant, in a game of few highlights.
I remember when he first joined a lot of fans were saying how terrible he was and "what a waste of Manè" etc

Then suddenly he hit a run of form and got more confident playing upfront and adjusted to the league.
Now it's that second season syndrome. Teams are more aware of him and he needs to adjust his game again.

Mané is a sunny weather player. Not a fair-weather player, but a sunny player. He needs a decent surface and reliable weather to make those runs of his. He'll look a world beater again just before we sell him in the summer.

His best moments yesterday came when it was absolutely hissing down. And freezing cold.
