Lovely thought but way too small I think. It would be fantastic to remain in W12.

If we had know that 'protest' was happening, we could have arranged an alternative. 10 000 QPR fans chanting something suitable!!

My speculative take on it (with nothing to back it up whatsoever) would be that the NIMBYs want further guarantees and appeasements and the Council have taken this back to TF and Co.

Because they know that TF has money, they are all trying to cash in at the last stages, moving the goalposts etc.

TF has publicly stated his position of being prepared to pull out and mentioned the alternatives as a way of forcing the Council to take a firmer hand with the NIMBYs rathers than us.

I reckon it'll happen although it's completely groundless and I have as much knowledge of the intricacies of development processes as I do on South American duck migratory patterns.

I think you may be right Matt, Tony playing a bit of brinkmanship to get it moving.

Having said that the bile poured out on here towards a group of people who obviously care passionately about something is interesting. Ok they are a tiny minority but all they have done is play the system to its fullest extent in support of their viewpoint. I for one am very happy that a system to make sure minority views are heard exists. And they lost. If Fernandes pulls out it won't be their fault, it'll be a business decision.

Though I am one of the 'bile pourers', I have to grudgingly agree with you. The alternatives to our system are being tried out in all sorts of places on the globe with rather varying results!

I just get irritated with single issue lobby groups who want their way or no way.

WWhilst i agree with the last 2 posts, anyone who has spent thier earlier years having to deal with, play on, clean up or use Warren farm for any sort of sporting activity, will telll you they are full of ****.

ive lost count of the amount of council and community initiatives put forward over the past 30 years to clean it up, maintain it and use it to its potential. Every last one of them fell on thier face partly because of lack of funding, but also because of lack of intrest from the local community (of which i was one)

nobody wanted anything to do with Warren Farm 5-10 years ago and it has become a disgrace and footy teams dont even use the facilities as they changing rooms are unsafe.
A club i spent many years at (Old Actonians) refuse to use it also and rather change at the club and drive to other grounds further away. It is dirty, unsafe and run down...why dont these do gooders do something about it then? Why dont they put up some cash and fix it up...because they cannot be bothered is the answer...All mouth no trousers !
