Is Kevin Cash really the money man or was that a rumour? Has anyone seen any document that ties or tied Kevin Cash to Cafc. I don't buy any of that crap. If KC was involved there must be some evidence, some contract, I believe this to be another manufactured rumour from those little scamps over the way, playing boardroom. It is clear that this club is losing money and lots of it and someone is pumping in money week in week out to keep us afloat. Should we really be grateful and keep our gobs shut until Vol wins the lottery and becomes the Ken Bates of Souf London.

It is clear to me that without this money this club would be well an truely shafted, and some want to get rid of the board? Is that not like killing the golden goose?

That's exactly what it is, typical.

The board probably exhausted all possible funds in signing Gower, Wood, Church and Sordell.

Now it is up to Powell to earn his corn.

When things are going well, we all hear about how terrific the team spirit is and how brilliant Powell is at motivating the players. Now the dark clouds are looming, these qualities seem to have gone for a burton.

That should read Kevin Cash Was the money man. He stopped funding the club over a year ago. It is more than a rumour Typical, but I have got no paper with his signature on it. I thank the owners for keeping Charlton going, but we have hit the buffers and there is no more money. They have lowered the wage bill which is good by getting rid of the high earners but it has left the squad paper thin on quality. Oh for a Fuller or a Haynes or even BWP. Where are you Obika? Church is a willing runner but not a natural goalscorer. Sordell is just not doing it, to think Bolton paid 3M for him. At the moment I can't see where the next goal is coming from. I hate to be so pessimistic so early in the Season, but without change I can see us heading back to the wastelands of Div1.

Dick. You have no proof here. Think it through. "Mr Cash your a successful millionaire businessman with no historical ties with cafc, I'm not going to make you a director or chairman but can we have millions of pounds to buy cafc and we don't expect you to ask for a contract either"

Now if jimi or slater did pull off that sort of deal THEN I definitely want them to remain as our board.

A lot of rubbish is put about by those that have had their bovril spilled by the new regime. Quite frankly they make me wanna puke. Who are they to tell others how to spend their money?

Its very difficult to name sources and relay stories we have been told because of the risk of litigation eyc. it wouldnt be fair on the Mods on here either, who are good people. Most of the regulars on here have sort of known each other for a number of years now, and we are all Charlton people who also know other Charlton people with contacts in the Club.

With that in mind, and I know you may not concur, I have heard things about the owners in the last week from within the club that does suggest that some very mean things are being done to some very undeserving targets. This in turn makes me think we do not want these type of people (the owners) anywhere near CAFC.

I like to deal in logic and fairness. Logically, very little that is written about the board that makes any sense at all from a commercial/business POV and fairly, given the absolute dogs abuse this board have been given over the last 18 months I am starting to question why? I am finding myself drawn to the conclusion that politically, this board are not favourable to a certain spectrum of fans whose minor celebrity status is dependant on them sitting on the Boards knee.

I am sickened by the abuse that is dished out on CL to the board. Most of it comes from 6 posters, one of whom has claimed to be present at every major world incident in the last 60 years from having a pint in the blind begger when ronnie got shot, to returning a book to the depository store in Dallas. I am fully entitled to question that sort of fantasy posting when it come on here without contemparanoeus or supporting evidence. I like Dickie, I like everyone on here, I even miss A2C but I don't rubbish people that have ON THE EVIDENCE improved the condition of CAFC from being able to play teams that don't have ponds in their town centres to proper recognised football cubs.

Quite frankly, if the board break a few eggs on the way, I don't give a damn. Far too long the club has been like a masonic lodge, if there are being unfair to the staff then that will come out on CL, but I wonder if this air of paranoia has been embedded in the staff and less imaginative fans since takeover.

I can't remember this much fuss when Murray sacked a load of support staff/womans team, when we were relegated from the Prem. But I suppose if you were in the magic circle at that time, why should you give a monkeys?

I like this post, typical. Colourful as always.

It was, however, George Cornell who was shot in the Blind Beggar.

I agree with Vol, there is something I have heard from within the club which I cannot put into the public domain. It is up to this individual if he wants it widely known. Plus I cannot say where I am getting my information from because I would not want to put that person in an invidious position. I don't mean to make it sound like I am special because I know something that you don't. I hate people who come over like that. But at the end of the day Typical and others will believe what they want to believe. I am happy that the owners saved us when they took over from certain Administration and we were promoted on the back of money they put in plus the Jenkinson funds. But some of their antics since then have been beyond the pall.

A source should never be revealed. But you do sometimes have to be clear on what news you're hearing and the source's own position. Sometimes when things are revealed they are done over a pint and having a bit of a gossip. Thats usually the most credible. Individuals who are telling stories that directly involve them clearly have more of an emotional involvement so you're getting a one sided story of events. Just some words of advice my old man handed me a few years back.
