According to today's BBC gossip column, both Bilic at WetSham and De Matteo at Villa are under threat.
 
Bilic would presumably head back to (beautiful) Croatia and get work there.
Failing that, he was the undoubted star of the studio commentary brigade during the Euros this summer, so a job in the media surely awaits?

I bet it's a much longer list than that. Moyes must be, Hughes too and that chap from Swansea n all. Then take your pick of any of the managers from Forest down in the champioship.

Yes, I forgot Swansea; though 'supposedly' Hughes and Moyes are 'safe' (for now), but wouldn't be at all surprised to see either/both 'leaving by mutual consent' before Bonfire Night!!!!

No surprises there - his interview after the defeat at Preston on Saturday seemed once of acceptance and resignation and I thought then he'd be on his way.

Steve Bruce being mentioned - could be a good fit but the blue half of the city would vent their spleen if Brucie was appointed.
 
I think Steve Bruce is more likely than McCarthy (who has Wolves connections to help matters), but the thought of Ipswich without McCarthy is an interesting one. I don't pay too much attention to them, but I've kind of got the impression that he's built a squad in his own image, and one that someone else might struggle to get a lot out of. They're probably in luck this season that the current bottom 4 look like they could well stay there all season.
 
Says in the articule that they will:

"Now the owner will draw up a defined style of playing and management structure before moving for a replacement. The international break gives him time to re-group and he will be assisted by chief executive Keith Wyness, technical director Steve Round and football consultant Brian Little."

I think that should rule out one of the early favouites [HASHTAG]#McCartyhoofball[/HASHTAG]

Of managers currently out of a job, Bruce or big Sam Bungadyce must be the best candidates to get promotion but would they fit the owners style requirements?

I think the compromise they end up making there will be interesting to see. Both names mentioned have had spells where their teams have played attractive football, but are also capable of playing effective dross. I can see that appealing. Do anything you can to get out of the championship, then the remit changes upon promotion. Building an attractive playing style in the championship doesn't always translate into results, and takes longer. Is Xia prepared to wait for that to happen?

Or just sack them once they've won promotion.
