I'm not sure we will see our strongest team today. I have a feeling he will mix it up and rest players, which would be wrong IMO, given we fielded a strong team last Thursday. That showed our intent to make a go of this competition, unlike the FA cup. I think the team will be; Vorm Tiendalli, Ash, Amat, Taylor Canas, JDG, Emnes, Lamah, Routledge Bony Tremmel, Hernandez, Dyer, n'Gog, Chico, Rangel
Got the game on simple cable over here and HAVE to go to work , I'm a broken man . Missed so much time do to the cold at work , I need the money. Good luck to the boys on the pitch and safe journey to the travelling jack army there and back , sing them through to the next round . Going to be one of those drives home after work, hoping I don't get a ticket (payed 500 Canadian dollars in driving fines yesterday so I could renew my plate) , press my plastic button and try to focus on the result while trying to control my breathing , I LOVE IT !!!!
Sorry I think that's too many changes for the palace game, I think we will see a similar rotation as we did last week. I think it's more the case of subbing and rotating key players without weakening our squad. Don't think that palace will just roll over for us, we need to be 100% We have enough quality to do it: Rangel, Chico, Amat, Ash, Taylor, Davies, Britton, Canas, shelvey, JDG Hernandez, Dyer, Routledge, Bony Thats 4 players we can rotate without weakening our team. For me players like Hernandez and Britton are game changers. Britton controls midfield Hernandez has that killer ball in him these players must play the two games.
Probably see the same line upon Sunday as we see today with Shelvey, possibly , coming on for Britton or Canas .Wonder if Britton and Chico are 100% after a couple of pretty good knocks last time out. The only way I see Amat playing a part is injury to the regular cb's , and even thats not a guarantee with Bartley in the picture these days
I rate Amat over Bartley. Yea he made some good tackles against Everton but he's only played 30 mins for us this season.
I was half expecting you to say 0-0 would not be a final result anyway s the game continues to play until there is a winner
If Monk gets his tactics right then we will need a full strong A team to hold them off, i recon they will come at us a 100mph for the first half hour so our possesion/counter game will be put to the test. Raphael is experienced enough to have a good plan to try and deal with us and sitting back wont be in those plans . So the lads will need to pull thier socks up and be switched on for the full 90+ to take advantage of the away goals and get a good result for us. 0-0 at half time and a goal for us in the last quarter is the least im hoping for, but as long as the lads give thier all ( in a fair game with a fair ref hahaha ) it`ll do. Palace down here with the crowd back on form will be hard but very do-able as long as injuries dont come from tonights game .
I hope we play our own game and don't try and over analyse and try to adapt too much to try and nullify them. If we stay calm and play our passing game and also our invigorated pressing game then we can hopefully dictate things to a good degree. I thought previously that we've no hope of winning this competition but if we come through this one, at their place, then who knows. Napoli must be one of the better teams in it. I'm sure the boys will do themselves, the fans and the club proud tonight, whatever the result. Right, those beers must be chilled by now... p.s. and the Mrs is out tonight so the neighbours might hear the odd swear word if () I get carried away!
Swansea City FC (@SwansOfficial) tweeted at 4:46 PM on Thu, Feb 27, 2014: SWANS to face @sscnapoli : Vorm, Tiendalli, Chico Flores, Williams ©, Davies, Canas, de Guzman, Hernandez, Routledge, Emnes, Bony. #swans (https://twitter.com/SwansOfficial/status/439079206761558017)
Swans team: Vorm, Tiendalli, Chico Flores, Williams ©, Davies, Canas, de Guzman, Hernandez, Routledge, Emnes, Bony
Swans subs: Tremmel, Amat, Taylor, Rangel, Pozuelo, Dyer, Ngog Britton has taken a knock apparently, hopefully to return Sunday
Tiendali in *****Rangel rested ? , and no Britton ! Emnes in ! maybe Dyers foot playing up ? not the A team but a an ok bench, not overly optomistic now.
To be fair, he's gone with a very attacking side, and other than Rangel (unless he's got a slight knock) injuries have pretty much picked this side.
It looks like he`s gone for a goal asap with what he`s got available then a bench of defence to hold a lead if we can get it ?
Just have to laugh at some of the fools on US NBC.....Warren Barton just said he could easily handle Bony, basically would just let him have the ball. Anyway, not sure I remember much about him as a player but I'm now fired up. COYS!
I think that's quite a good team and considering the musty win game Sunday, it's sensible too. The only worry is Tiendalli But as long as he is well drilled he'd be ok
Not our strongest side by far but a more sensible side where subs could be used to effect, Leon could have been included but monk is right to leave him out after a bit of a knock against liverpool, We need Leon to run the engine room against palace which is a more important game...
