I fully understand that mate I’m one of the knackers that’s been going for nearly 50 years, it’s ****e at times. But now (for me) is a time to be optimistic and dream of a bright future.
Yes he’s got money , but who do you think is going to be making all of the football decisions?? Donald and methven. We needed a clean slate. Not methven, donald and sartori all staying. People saying look how much his family are worth? Sartori’s family are loaded but what good has that done us?? Not what we needed. In terms of shares it maybe a takeover but to me it’s more just ‘ potential investment’ . Don’t be surprised if they spend about 2 million in jan and try to sell us again
Agreed, but after all of the vile, toxic abuse from the fans and the kidnapping of his daughter I thought he’d want to be as far away as possible. Almost as if he’s a lying little goblin of a chancer
A further tantalizing thought - this news from the guardian should hopefully provoke a further formal update from the club or other leaks at least.
I've got shares with infrastrata but I don't attend meetings or make decisions, it's to cash in.. dont blame em
You seem to share my initial concerns, but for now all we can do is a) wait and see who the others are and b) see what their plans are. Fingers crossed we see good footballing appointments to run everything
This may be an unpopular opinion but I really don’t mind Donald and Methven staying on. I’m sure when they originally came they were meant to be a smaller part of a consortium but for whatever reason became the main men. Now they will be what they initially should’ve been as minority shareholders. It’s obvious that Donald cares a lot for the club, but his executive decision making has been abysmal. We have been ran like a non league club for two years, with jobs for the boys, impulsive transfer decisions and massive cost cutting. But I don’t think Donald is a bad guy. Maybe this could be a great situation. New, richer guys take the reins and run this club professionally and with more financial backing, but allow Donald to stay on the board and maybe repair his relationship with the fans. His shares will be so minimal that he will not have any real say over the clubs running. Maybe others think worse of him and that he should just get lost completely but I don’t necessarily think this would be a bad make up. As long as the decision making is in better, richer, more professional hands now, I think it’s really positive.
Perhaps there should just be a sticky for people to add their name to a thread called, "I've insisted, all along there was absolutely nothing happening, no chance of a takeover and ridiculous to think a club could be sold in a pandemic ... ... but no one is more pleased than me to be proved totally wrong in every possible way."
I think he is only after the white seats in the corners myself. Wants them for his cinema room at home.
See, I do think Donald is a bad guy. He’s lied pretty much constantly for 2.5 years about a variety of things. I can kind of accept bad decisions being made, people make mistakes and some are simply out of their depth but mean well. However, he’s made numerous things up about us as supporters. That’s not just being bad at his job, that’s trying to deflect his failings onto us. Methven is even worse, he’s a slimy, arrogant ****er to boot. I wanted them both to leave the club having lost a fortune
Interestingly - Alan Nixon said months and months and months ago that the takeover was just going to Sartori and his mates taking more control with Methven and Donald less. Everyone assumed Rybovolev. Perhaps Nixon was right all along. It's then semantics as to whether it's a takeover or not. I say it is
