I’m not a fan of the ladies game and even their top teams are nowhere near league 1 standard.

Unfortunately the front row of either gender, are no neck, cauliflower ears and as tall as they were wide and just as hairy. As for the gentler sex, the worst foul I have ever witnessed was in women's rugby match... a fore arm smash to the head of a flying winger... ambulance had to come on the pitch. Police also involved as an assault!

100% this, the most frustrating thing about us for the last 10 years has been our obsession with staying up or getting promoted in 1 season. We constantly putting fires out and that means we never actually build anything, last 2 years Donald and his boys have taken over from Ellis short and just repeated his mistakes, obsession with being promoted, talent the established "safe" players and ended up not being promoted anyway, imagine the team if we'd kept asoro, Maja, Luke Molyneux, Andy Nelson.

Maybe Maja and asoro would have left regardless but would those have scored less goals than what we've got now?

    Agreed.
League one standard ? Absolutely no way.
The USA national team played a local college team in a warm up before the world cup, got beat 5/0.
Any Northern League team would beat any woman's team, they are simply much stronger and quicker, but that is not the point, , it is like saying any reasonable pro in the men's tennis game could beat any woman, it is really about the entertainment on show

I do despair at the quality of the league but what I do enjoy is that every game is close and competitive. So many games in the premier league are just defence v attack. Us hanging on for a point. Hoping to finish 17th. Absolutely ****.
No matter how bad this is, I'd never watch rugby. Ffs

No I took them into account. Villa just stayed up by a thread last season.

Ask them if they want to swap divisions with us, I don't think 1 fan would accept your offer.

I hate the salary cap, but to be fair it should benefit us. Under 21 year olds aren't included and we've got a category 1 academy. If we could have just 5 academy products good enough for the first team squad, and we can use our additional money compared to other sides in this league to pay for some other good young players who are 19 or 20 or whatever then we're in a great position. 8 decent players under 21, the rest of the squad made up of the wage cap .

Plenty of other clubs won't be able to pay for good youngsters and won't be bringing any through. If managed properly we can spend more than the other clubs and, if we've focused on the academy, we'd have a young, talented squad that can grow with us. The trouble is we've got a load of knackers who stopped giving a **** 17 months ago

I completely get, and indeed agree, with the argument that it would be better to stay down here for a couple of years and get our **** together properly and then attack the Premier League in a positive way. The only problem with that "argument" however is plenty of teams have tried that. And for how many years are we willing to gather ourselves in League One?

Any plan that says "I'm happy where I am for a couple of years" is dangerous when you don't have control over getting away from where you are. We can't just say to the EFL that we are ready to be promoted please.

So in an ideal world I'd like us to have a sustainable vision and approach before we get back into the PL - but I definitely wouldn't turn down consecutive promotions in the meantime.

I agree with most of what you say however if promotion is achieved and your talent pool is not good enough you end up with a squad of league 1 players with young guys who have no experience at the level above thus making you spend more on wages to attract better talent to your club. Ok maybe 1 or 3 of your more experience players may be able to cut it but you would then have to expand your squad wit 3 maybe 4 new signings to replace the ones who are not good enough whilst still paying the contracts of the player who have just gotten you promotion. In my opinion you should be allowed to build gradually within the means of your club and or its investors. If the owners run the club badly what is the point of the fit and proper test in the first place.

It’s a sign of how badly we’ve been mismanaged that we’re in this division and a sign of how badly we’ve been mismanaged we think we should build from here. Mid table championship should be the lowest point for a club of our stature. Let’s grow the club from there not here. We’re too big for this tinpot league if we stay here we’ll lose our infrastructure.

Ellis Short blew a quarter of a billion £££'s to get into this mess. Badly run is an understatement :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Believe or not , I would agree. It make sound business sense for a constant supply of parachute payment money, spend little, get promoted, take the money , get relegated, take more money, and begin again.

Also got to the league cup final.

Beat city, Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool.

Smashed the mags for about 3 years straight.

None of that would be realistically achievable without being in the premier league.
