Thanks. Let’s hope whoever it is has the financial power and footballing knowledge to get us going in the right direction
Could it be Sartori taking over, coupled with increased investment/input from FPP? That would explain the infrastructure spending, recruitment strategy and not needing EFL checks.
I was never really against it. If he's got the money, why not? He certainly goes about things his own way, which might actually be beneficial.
To be fair to him he was saying he was welcome at it but the language he used wasn’t the greatest. He is too close and loyal to Methven than I could be comfortable with after the debacle of their ownership. I’d expect an away game in London will mean a few key people meet up today.
This is my take on it too. Imo, if he was making a serious attempt to buy the club, he wouldn’t have been spouting all over twitter in the way he has.
He just wasn’t very clear mate, someone said that methven wasn’t welcome back at the club, his reply was he is at my house (meaning he’s welcome at my house). Let’s just say I’m adept at bad English translations
He’s a blagger, my cousin sponsors a motor cycle team, meaning he has a sticker on a bike somewhere, owns a small firm in hunwick (self employed) gets him in the paddock though and makes him look good on social media, reality is he’s a prick without a pot to piss in, I think storey is the same
I'm 97.5% certain he has a bid in. Pretty sure there would have been a denial if he was making it up.
I just cannot believe its not going to be somebody already mentioned. We are way way to far down the line for a name never mentioned to be in the running and to then takeover imo
If I was going to take a guess at what Storey's motivation is I'm going for him being the Don's stooge. Him and the Don remind me of each other when they're going on about how much cash we'd have. £50 mil investment, the league's biggest budget. Can have as much money as you want but if your going to run the place in a way that makes Sergeant Sedenko look competent you'll end up with **** all to show for it. I also happen to think they both have more ego than ability and I'd rather have someone with more ability than ego owning the club.
I have to confess the thought of Storey buying us is scary it could be years before we progress if he takes over. Atm I see him as a conman fantasist
Just been reading a decent interview with the Portsmouth owner, he states they are now steadily losing £750k month. Safe to say we are losing more. Surely, surely Stu has to be getting out. He can’t carry that. We’ve speculated a bit about losses but that’s horses mouth stuff, from the second biggest club in the league. They don’t have a Cat A academy and a large hospitality setup, our losses must be far greater than theirs.
The club have maintained silence, at least officially,.... not saying who is involved and not saying who isn’t. It’s also creating a bit of a smokescreen which may be welcome to them. Why issue a denial when it’s creating a diversion from the real thing.
sorry but I think that’s absolute nonsense. That’s the kind of backtracking you do when you say something ridiculous and realise you need to come up with a plausible story for it - and it’s really not.
I agree with Tony here mate.... that was how his comment came over to me too. Trouble is , as history shows, Bob isn’t very good at communicating what he wants to say.
I agree with @TonyG here, and im in no way a madbob apologist. He replied to a poster saying that CM is not welcome in the NE, madbob replying "he is at my house"....i read it as "he is (welcome) at my house". Just my opinion.
Maybe the new owners/investors are playing SD at his own game now and letting the noose tighten whilst lowering the offer hence the delay in any potential announcement.
He hasn’t backtracked to be fair to the man. People took it, including me at first, that Methven was there for a sleepover. When you reread it he meant he is welcome at my house’. Bob is close to to Methven but I doubt he’s close enough for a sleepover party on a Friday.
