I thought this FPP loan could put a block on all of that. Unless they would be happy to get their money back and run.
If Storey's got proper backing then he's no bigger risk than anyone else who's never run a football club before. Its only if he hasn't got the funds that he becomes a problem.
I am certainly not clued up on the ins and outs of business but my gut says I would prefer the Americans to this eccentric.
It would be better it being any of the Americans as we know they are wealthy enough in their own right. If it is Storey and even if he names his backers I would be sceptical and I'm sure given our recent experiences most would join me in this. I would always have in my head had he blagged it, is it some kind of game he is playing? Donald told us he showed 50million liquid assets and did he not deny buying the club with club money at first?
I think the bloke is a fantasist. If he can pull out £50 mil to get us back to the Prem tho then I will be delighted to eat lots n lots of humble pie.
Wealth isn't the be all and end all though. You have to know what you're doing. Look at Gillett and Hicks at Liverpool, Randy Lerner at Villa, and our very own Ellis Short.
If Storey had/has backers I would rather have him. Least he’s a football fan and sounds passionate. We might actually get under his skin as a club. The Americans are investing in different football clubs . Makes me think we would just be a money making scheme for them. Would love to be proved wrong
Storey said one of his backers is a “Middle Eastern Billionaire” in his Youtube interview earlier this week. I am intrigued who this new chairman is that has supposedly been appointed. Could he be working his notice elsewhere and that is why it’s not been announced?
He’s got nothing and never has had. It’s all bollocks as for his motivation, I think it’s a piss take because of his mate SW.
Lots of soundbites but no substance again. One thing for certain it would not be dull with him at the helm. He does come across as modern version of Michael Knighton - I know every thinks he was a joke but he could have bought Man U for £20m and he would have done if i remember correctly David Murray of Rangers pulled his backing for the deal. Look at how much Man U was sold to the Glazers for £750m that seller could have been Knighton If he has proper money behind him and we knew who these people and plans are then it would have to be considered.
That could well be the case. If it is a piss take, its a long winded one that isn't going ro reap him any benefits though. It all remains to be seen really. This is one of the things that makes me wary of American owners. The club could get under their skin though. Wasn't there talk of them investing in the surrounding area too? If that's the case, they might not just be in it to make money. There is quite a culture of altruism is in the States.
It's a crazy scenario, but are some coming around to the thought of Storey owning us??? This is Safc after all.
From the source who passes info to me he's definitely adamant its not Furhman or Storrey. Telling me its closer than ever and from the start highlighted the club won't be doing a running commentary on proceedings. Also, stated financial forecasting is complete for different football scenarios. Note the following - Key positions not filled. Young players signing contracts Money being spent on infrastructure Social media contracts being signed Proactive recruitment policy for under 23's Fingers crossed its announced sooner rather than later.
Looks like MAD BOB THE MAKEITUP had a bit of a meltdown last night. Methven at Bob's house at the time!
I don't have many contacts or links in SAFC at the minute, most of the stuff I hear is from people passing on stuff they've heard but I'm cautious of it in case it's people repeating what they've heard on line instead of direct info. That said the little I am hearing generally backs up what you, Nagnus and Prehab have said. In a couple of cases, such as Donald relinquishing control of the club was told to me a couple of weeks before you put it on here (the wording I was told was that he was "disengaged completely from the club"). My only good source of info comes via my brother who hasn't been able to get much due to the lockdown stopping him seeing his contact! I think with the NDAs in place and still plenty of staff on furlough there's not been enough people in a position to leak stuff without it being easily traceable and getting punished accordingly. As a bit more is starting to come out now, we must be getting into the closing stretch. Regarding the mags, I've got a couple of mates who work for HMRC who've said that it is serious and wide ranging when I'd asked about it. One made a cryptic remark about the BBC programme a few years ago the alleged that Allardyce took back handers. I know that the mags used a lot of legal blocking tactics and tried to get some stuff dismissed that's held the investigation back by over a year.
This sounds like Sartori then, I hope he has rich backers and a plan. Christ after this debacle even a plan would do. If it is that close it must either be at EFL or not required, which would suggest an insider as well.
