Well Barnes will get hammered for it and while I understand he probably doesnt derserve to really, he has left himself wide open by giving timescales and moving them. He is the only one that has mentioned a takeover really. What he is saying doesnt really make a lot of sense being it the week that Charlton have been taken over who are in the same league with the same issues.
TBF to Barnes when he initially tweeted the football was expecting fans back through the door in October. That's obviously changed and now it's looking likely there will be no fans all season and that might have a part to play in a potential takeover taking longer imo.
A blind man could see ,way back in May/June that it would be touch and go for this new season to even start let alone have fans back in October.. posted before that next february at the earliest but some seem to have forgotten the little matter of this life taking virus..
What if there's no vaccine forthcoming and we're stuck with this virus for years, with no fans in the ground? Half the clubs in this country won't exist.
Make that all of them. No crowds , soon enough no football . But fatality rates are rising very slowly all over Europe despite very large case increases. It might be time for society to grow up a bit, accept this virus is with us and that some will fall from it, and accept also that only about 1% of all deaths are due to covid. There is still no vaccine for the common cold. No vaccine for HIV despite multiple billions and decades of research. A covid vaccine may never come and we will probably have to live with it.
I’ve seen Istanbul but never Kuwait I don’t think BBC Newcastle have reported that a Saudi-based consortium saw an offer rejected in April because Donald had already accepted an offer from a preferred bidder. https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spo...keover-serious-interest-revealed-18578953.amp
I believe so. I think we will get to a point where we 'live with it' and I think a big part of the current restrictions is more about the potential damage to the nhs if we didn't try to slow the spread as opposed to it being about the fatality rate (however right or wrong the morals behind that might be).
Saudis Turkish (Istanbul) Fpp Gray Campbell Chinese bloke Storey Sartori FIL I can’t recall Kuwait ever being mentioned, could have missed it like
Yes, Kuwait was definitely mentioned . Iirc it was just someone from the guardian who mentioned Kuwait interest in the club almost in passing, then it got onto twitter. Not convinced it ever sounded like anything concrete though
