While ever there's no definitive 'sold' announcement anything can be claimed or denied. In the meantime if someone claims 'Donald met Fuhrman face to face' some will believe it's to sign the takeover papers ... ... others will choose to believe Fuhrman's just picking up his cheque for the loan repayment. That's all fine and provides debate and entertainment for posters. There's no need for people to denounce anyone else or claim their interpretation is wrong. As I said, until there's an official announcement, virtually everything is open to opinion.
It did come completely out of the blue. Announced by Donald and Short as soon as a deal was agreed. However this was actually before it went to EFL for signing off. Suspect Donald couldn't wait to tell everyone. Took another few weeks and EFL meetings with Donald before it was ratified. Remember thinking at the time that they seemed like a breath of fresh air but did wonder about EFL checks as he didn't seem to have the money behind him personally but was promising future investment. Suppose this time depends whether EFL need to do fit and proper persons check (for what that's worth)
Details on Grimsby takeover and efl website state efl will say nothing whilst checks are taking place probably due to GDPR https://www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/...ws/grimsby-town-takeover-efl-test-3026381.amp https://www.efl.com/-more/governance/efl-rules--regulations/appendix-3---owners-and-directors-test/
That claim looked idiotic as the words came out of his mouth, looking back they're worse. It was also quite insulting to the club and the supporters imo. That's the point I totally lost it with Donald.
Nothing would officially come out, but you can see from the article that there's already a good idea of who the bloke is who is buying the club. I doubt the EFL are watertight either, you'd imagine various papers would have people they'd hear whispers from. And like I say if it gets to that stage people at the club would likely be more relaxed about it and more likely to mention something . To get to that stage with no idea of who, if anyone, is buying the club seems strange. When Donald bought the club, it was officially announced by the club before the EFL test even took place.
We don't need to know about your toilet habits, but . . . . the disruptive kitten has returned to successfully disrupt, others have taken the bait and the thread's derailed again (there's no real harm done, mind, 'cos it keeps us amused whilst nothing's happening imminently)
On average (not including ticket sales) we pump £268k per match into the club, now these Tory bumpkins are saying these new measures could be in for 6 months, can’t see the Oxford spiv getting his asking price now https://www.sunderlandecho.com/spor...-one-set-continue-behind-closed-doors-2979245
My opinion only but think there was an element of truth in what SD said, but ego as ever muddied the communication. I think FPP liked the potential and his vision, hence the interest, but presume confident waned with subsequent events.
On twitter they are saying MG and his consortium have pulled out due to problems with SD. I am deffo not an ITK so dont know if that was ever a goer and as it is on twitter there is no guarantee it is even true. Just saying what I have read.
Digresing here ( I apologise) can you imagine next Monday night Arsenal v Liverpool 20:15 kick off. Should be fun n games there closing the pub at 22:00hrs when the match will not be finished.
