Like everybody else,I've been trying to make some sense of this whole thing for over a year now. I try to think about what would seem logical and would make common sense.I think it extremely unlikely that the terms of the deal haven't been hammered out already in London lawyers' offices. At this stage, putting things together from the info we have, I would suggest that a get together between buyer and seller at the latter's home is more likely to be social, than nitty gritty negotiation of a business deal. SD..." now we've got everything tied up Glen, just waiting for the EFL,why don't you come round for dinner and a drink on Tuesday before you head off home?"....GF....." Very kind of you Stewart,I've one or two things to finish in London,Tuesday sounds good." The following day....GF..." Stewart, somethings come up,got to get back to the US straight away, can I take a rain check on dinner....maybe in a couple of weeks when I'm back again to formally sign off the documents?" SD...." That's fine Glen, just give me a call". Or,am I just a deluded old fool? (Careful, you lot!!)
Some of the theories are absolutely mental mate. The idea that Donald/Ashley would engineer elaborate fake takeover bids to 'get the fans off their backs' is crackers ... ... for one thing, it blatantly doesn't work does it
Yeah I don't get that theory either, if Donald wanted less pressure all he'd have to say is that there are no bids on the table.
Would you say Mike Ashley is an outcast at Newcastle? Donald or Ashley sit in directors boxes so aren't in and around the fans. They both own and fund the clubs whilst actively watching games. To describe them as outcasts is strange, especially because the moment they stop funding the clubs, both would go into administration.
He would lose personal wealth he may have wanted to move into his other business or another new business. This season big loss would stop that.
Exactly. Some people are so desperate to shoot any FPP deal down that they'll clutch at anything to throw doubt on it. As I've said, although I have no access to any info.,......and so could be very mistaken......the idea that this deal could be scuppered because GF may have cancelled meeting SD at his house just seems so unlikely to me.
In the context of the post it has nothing to do with owning clubs, you can be an outcast of a social group. ie rejected by them and I am sure that is how he feels
Ashley is what I would describe a fair weather supporter he seems to pick and choose his matches some of it will be work related but if he really wanted to go he could . Would be interesting to know how many matches he attended last season ,SD was a regular attender until the pressure/heat was on then he disappeared .
I don't think so, most would shrug their shoulders and get on with it. Making up a fake takeover that falls through at the last minute is a great way to make every single fan get on your back.
Isn't it obvious that nothing is happening at all and its a cover up that is why a billionaire with an investment in our club is OK travelling to Stewart Donald's home to discuss nothing happening at our club Fredrick Forsythe couldn't of come up with this plot well played Bob and the nuggets
Donald sat/stood with the away fans where he got off on the adulation, think that's more relevant to him being described as outcast?
Thing is, bobs post says he ".....changed the meeting at the last minute". Doesnt say pulled out of it or cancelled....for all Bob knows he could have "changed" it from 10.00am to 10.15am as the bus was running late. Bear in mind, that Bob has been saying for ages that furhman isn't involved. That should tell you all really.
Thing is, when people are saying meetings been changed at the last minute or talks are ongoing because of uncertainty - this is where we are at with everything considering the government are changing the laws of the nation overnight so its very plausible that business deals are getting changed overnight.
Ashley doesn't fund Newcastle, never has. He's provided interest fee loans, that's it. In fact the mags made a post tax profit of £35 mil according to the 2018-2019 accounts. Hardly being funded by the owner and administration is nowhere on the horizon for them. Ridiculous claim to make. As for us, my understanding is administration wouldn't happen if the old Don said no more loans for you as the club would end up in the hands of FPP. Additionally, if the club went into admin old Don gets **** all back. Not one penny. Now, do you really think someone would go for that or would take the option to sell the club and end up losing a few million?
As I said in the post you quoted, "I know what I know, post what I can and don't want an endless row for other people's idle amusement."
