Wonder how much an American art collector would be willing to pay to get his hands on a rare painting like that? I remember when it used to hang in the central museum on the staircase. Again, could be talking boll!cks here, but I’m sure I once read somewhere many years ago that the linesman on the far side was the Sunderland owner/chairman/manager or something, and just wanted to be included in the painting.
Yeah, its from a 4 all draw played at Newcastle Road. Its supposed to be one of, if not the, earliest paintings of a football match.
The only info I've had is that there's been no change, I'm taking that as a positive. We're near Carcassonne mate, SW France ... ... we were on the Riviera for quite a few years so fancied something different.
Innate pessimism comes with the greying of the napper. So it came to me quite a bit ago. But I will permit an easing of this natural state today. My car is knackered, I might have to work tomorrow, and I think an attack of gout might be, shall we say, afoot! Yesterday's good news for our nearest and dearest though, - I mean that actually, that would have been the club gone forever, but the reaction was still highly comical - has helped some sun come out. You never know do you really. Maybe one of these day's something really promising will happen here.
It's a startlingly simple concept to grasp mate ... ... the way some people carry on you'd think I'd tricked them out of their life savings
I sold our house and put the money on us being sold by May but don’t you worry mate I’ll manage honest don’t worry about it I will get through this somehow
Re the O’Brien element. Are they fans of the club or just local folk who see the huge potential and business opportunity?
