What ever 'good' things the two amigos may have done, the underlying issue is that they are chancers of the highest order. They knowingly gambled the future of our club to make a quick profit, when they had no capability whatsoever to run the club successfully if their 'promoted then flip' strategy didn't come off. The upshot is that we had to suffer 4 years in league one under them, and they still may not be finished with us yet. Lets hope they are.

Pretty much sums up my feelings.

Everything they do for SAFC was to benefit them.

If it had all gone seriously wrong they'd have run away and left us in debt.

They're not our kind of people, Sunderland supporters deserve better.

And the REASON they had to cut costs so drastically, is because they used the club's own Parachute Payments ( designed to "wean" a club off PL tv money) to buy the club.

oh of course they are, they wanted a quick promotion and sell that was never in doubt and when that failed they had to 'come clean' and admit they did not have the funds...does not take away the state the club was in, too many staff taking a lend of Shorts 'just send me the bill' policy, cost cutting by bain (but only where it did not affect him) followed by these two having to cut the club even further to the bone, this is going to be a long, slow climb back as i doubt KLD will throw cash around to try for a quick fix, he will take a far more calculated route.

One of the main things I have against the gruesome twosome is that under their watch we lost a lot of our star youngsters.

This might be controversial but I have more dislike for Bain than anyone else running the club recently. Unlike others I am speaking from afar, and dont know the people however, but Bain came across terribly I thought on tele. I found hin quite offensive somehow, whilst we sank lower and lower he seemed to always make certain elements of the show about him, his watches and his coffee machine. Maybe that shouldnt offend me, but it did. It felt like he was auditioning for his next role.

Donald I find hard to hold in the same bracket. I always felt he thought he would deliver, and never really understood his own shortcomings. A bit like the lad who works the bag in the boxing gym, punching it as hard as he can, but then gets in to spar with an experienced fighter and after 30 seconds wants the bell. I dont ever think he worried he was getting in over his head, because he didnt know any better. Methven, in my opinion, is the cleverer of the two but his PR machine wasnt what was needed in League 1. He was wrong place wrong time. Whilst I watched him in STID and thought what a pillock, I did think he was being himself, but like I say wrong place and wrong time. I do want them to go, because they arent what we need now, but I find myself somehow more upset by Bain. Controversial, like I said...

Conversely, I think that you'd be mistaken to think that everything that KLD does isn't for his benefit, mind.

Most of us trust him completely to be very successful at S.
A.F.C., but I've got no doubt whatsoever that, although he's bought into the club completely, I think, he's in it for himself :emoticon-0105-wink:

He has nothing to do with Sunderland, the NE or the UK so this is his head working, not his heart.

There is a difference between him and Donald though.

Donald wanted to make a fortune from SAFC whereas KLD is risking his.

Donald would've left the club worse off but I think KLD will leave us better.

So, do you think spending loads of money would expedite getting promotion to the premier? How much? if it does, then KLD would be better off spending wouldn't he? It'd double his investment getting promotion, surely!? The bottom line is it doesn't, so he won't and he's right. I don't think we'll spend that much either, but I don't think that necessarily equates to a long stay in the champo. We're going up again, sooner rather than later!
