At this moment in time I have no real interest in the premier league .. happy with a good season but not that bothered about promotion .. the top league stinks of a closed league for the top few clubs and has been ruined by money which we all know screwed us up … most games are boring

Great. That's where the signs seem to be pointing. And it will certainly do for me.

Getting rid of those two is vital. Never easy running a football club, but with those two clinging on like limpets, and hoping for a handout, it must be like trying to sprint wearing oversized wellies, in the mud and pulling a full cement mixer along.

Agreed. In my mind, the takeover happened when KLD took his shareholding. Hopefully all this fully confirms it.
Those two just had to go. I have seldom if ever seen two people so pitifully out of their depth.

i keep thinking back and i honestly feel our 'best years' were in the championship...good, vocal fans came to the SoL and supported their team as you expect fans to do while we did the same at the away games...then we entered the stale premiership where, in the main, fans sat almost silent until their team scored and some offered up some polite applause.

...and yes i watched some dour sh1te at times that passed themselves off as sunderland football team but i don't think i can honestly say i had a bad day at any time, the experience was one to enjoy (yeh we got p1ssed off when we lost/drew/played badly) but we accepted those days would happen, headed back to the pub and chewed it over while looking forward to the next one.

    Cheers mate.
That would suit me fine. Slow but sure progression
We are on the up and when we get there we'll have strong foundations on and off the pitch.

When we have another derby will their mercenaries be up for it against a group of lads who would die for the club?

What If the owners want to spend a few quid? It's been said that there will be money there for a route back to the Prem. I for one said I'd be happy with mid table no drama season. There's a way to spend without going mad. It's at the point now where a half decent Championship striker goes for about 15 million, and if that's the going rate.... Truth is we just don't know

I agree with the spending. We don't need to go crazy, championship teams just can't now unless teams have parachute money. There does however need to be a balance. Teams promoted from league one seem to be in and around the relegation zone because they don't have the finances to compete. There's the odd one or two that make it though (Luton/Blackpool).

Ellis Short went too far and agreed to let us only loan in players and pick up players on free transfers. He lost all interest and moved to the states and this kind of loaning and picking up frees contributed to our relegation to league one. I'd like to think we'd pay for a player if we feel a deal is right. If we are paying decent loan fees/wages for seriously good premier league players I'd be happy. I trust Alex Neil to get the right players in and I am sure we'll have a decent season. If things don't go well you know the fan's reactions will be 'we didn't spend enough', 'didn't show any ambition'. Hopefully we get it right.

If the new investor/group is wealthy I'll be a lot happier than a chancer like Donald, Methven, Storey or Campbell. I'd like them to be around more like Kyril. Not so much Sartori who seems to turn up now and then.

Bob, I dont know you, but if you believe these 2 cowboys have paid all the parachute money back (and not in the form of loans which they want back) you are a very trusting man

    Yep.

Mind, if KLD knows them, I'm not too bothered about their being here a lot. KLD is a fairly constant presence, and that'll do me.

Agree. I think 3 or 4 quality additions around £3-4m plus some loans should see us in a strong enough position to finish top half
