Don’t know why people are getting so antsy, prehab and wheatsheaf have said it’s all good, we’ve just had a double bank holiday, things will come to a conclusion soon enough.
There's far too many posts in this thread to keep up to date. My own personal opinion is that if it is input from his step father, it will be far more likely to be a personal investment rather than a business investment. I can't imagine Blackrock owning a share of our club. Personally, I'm not sure it's him at all, though it seems likely that it will be someone who knows KLD well. Hopefully it's all done soon.
I know Monday is never a good day for snippets and news but I’ve got everything crossed for later in the week
he's being sarcastic based off Wheatsheaf's post here a few days ago. Loads of them are posting this every couple of hours. its tedious. I've stopped lurking over there again as a result
At last I've had a bit of info, gossip if you like but it's good gossip and I believe it. I used to know Doug Wetherall after we'd met in the press box at Arsenal during a game in which Stan Cummins scored. It was either that game or one when Colin West scored. Whatever the case Doug put his hand on my shoulder and reminded me that it's not correct to stand up and roar as people are doing radio commentaries. Doug had a similar background to me, born into a pit family, loved sport, Sunderland supporter, etc. Yes he liked all NE teams to do well but he was one of us. Anyway, I got to know other journalists through him who are always handy to know, I've had my share of complimentary tickets over the years. One of them is a Mag but decent enough. I've prodded him for info since Wembley, where he'd been, and got nowt. But I've just had a chat and invited his family up as he's a keen salmon and trout fisherman. He says Donald was at Wembley trying to claim credit but talking about Sunderland in the past tense so definitely gone. He's no idea who's coming in but thinks it's one person close to the family. He says, if it hadn't been D&M going people wouldn't bat an eyelid at a share sale and that very little will change in his opinion. So, an anticlimax other than the two clowns going and a budget for a top six finish agreed. Loans will be high on the agenda again. That's about it from what I remember. So it's pretty tame and definitely not a takeover of any kind from what I can gather.
Yeh tame but once again a pointer that there Defo away that’s all a lot of people really want, the clowns gone and a steady ship
Think everybody is in agreement that nobody would be that bothered if it was just a normal share reshuffle, but everyone is desperate for D&M to go so that’s why there’s so much focus, good to hear they’re hopefully gone, just want it all officially announced now
I think part of it is that some of us, myself included, have been drawn in to asking about D+M, and that's always going to be a bad area. As has been pointed out, hopefully soon there shouldn't be any need to give them a moments thought ever again. Probably not the legacy they wanted, but that's the best that are going to get from me. Nice job boys.
i have never liked smarmy suvvern w@nkers and them two were just that. they will live for a few years on how they 'pulled a norvern club round' but the locals never took to them because of their backgrounds etc etc or they may even stake a claim as to how they pulled the wool over our eyes cos we was ignorant and undeducated...but in reality they both thought they were simply going to make a fast, big profit with very little outlay but it blew up in their faces and they were shown for what they are. glad to see the back of them as even without any real say in the running of OUR club they could still cause unrest from the inside if wanted...i did not and am not expecting a takeover but am expecting whoever comes in will have the same thoughts and aspirations as KLD and will help to restore some harmony. * there are many southerners who are not 'smarmy suvvern w@nkers' but there are those who will always feel superior to the rest of the country.
