It's all about the flavour Giacchi lad. Don't let a triviality like meat content put you off. Hoy a bit salt on if it bothers ya.
More than likely, it's a real shame as he's been there that long but in this day and age there's little sentiment when it's all about reducing costs.
It seems to make very little sense. And if he's been there ages he'll get a very canny redundancy package you'd have thought, so it's not even like it'll be cheap to pay him off. If it's true that he's going then it looks like the financial picture is even bleaker due to Covid than we thought. If that's the case then Donald surely won't be hanging about. The only other thing I can think of is whether there's some sort of rule about players handling their own kit due to Covid, something that would mean he doesn't really have a role for the foreseeable future, but I haven't heard of any new rules which would make a kit man position redundant
Before folk get too hung up on the Cooke thing, do we know how he feels about it? I've read lots about how it's a disgrace and that SD has done it to spite fans etc. But if the bloke wants to retire or have a nice quiet time, perhaps it's good for him
Aye, @Milton Nunez's Thong makes a good point in terms of waiting to see what comes out because he might have been happy to go or might have had to go due to ill health. I think the fact it was first mentioned as a rumour of two people leaving has led people to think the worst in terms of him being forced out, but it would be prudent to see what is said by the club
I’d like to think he wanted to go for whatever reason rather than another cost cut because he did bring a lot to the dressing room
Have a look at the film Marvelous. Lou Macari in his time as Stokes manager brought this bloke (Neil Mellor) into the dressing room, he had learning difficulties and ended up a fans legend. the films good if you don't mind a lot of sentimentality.
Isn't it like a covid guideline that teams must arrive to the stadiums on matchday in their own kit and what not? Seems pointless to have a kitman, if that's the case.
