All of this makes perfect sense to me. If you look at the regeneration underway and planned for the Riverside and beyond there is serious money being spent and opportunities for mega rich people to make money. Being the part or sole owner of SAFC puts you very near the top of the queue for funding and investment opportunities. Bit like why the Rubens are involved in the Mags, it's not for the love of the club, it's for the opportunities it can present
You do realise that they will take credit for our takeover don't you. I mean if it wasn't for them demonstrating what a fabulous investment a football club in the North East looks like, we would never get it over the line. He is referring to a post over the road, prehab name dropped. However your latter sentence and prehabs post earlier suggesting they are getting kicked into touch, would suggest that the 3 of them have no choice
There's a weird counter culture with Sunderland forums that I'm not sure exists elsewhere. For example, When the KLD takeover was being done Prehab posted a few details and told people what day the statement would be. Before it actually transpired certain people were saying it was nonsense, etc. Then it did happen. Now, the same people are rubbishing Prehab's posts and saying they're nonsense. If it does happen they won't simply say 'fair enough' and move on. They'll just keep bitching away and pointing out bits that weren't accurate. I don't understand why they do that unless they're just Mags or Wums.
I hope you're right but it was pointed out before that it costs around 1 Million to do it. Surely anyone willing to invest is not gonna start something for that money when we were still in the play offs at the time.
Deodrant2 on the other forum has posted to say there has definitely been contact from John Reece and he believes an Asian group have been in touch as well.
I love reading the ITK posts, actually come over here from RTG to follow your posts during the Dell takeover. I dont get why people don't just enjoy reading it and if it comes off great, if not never mind, why nit pick and try to disprove anyone passing on info in good faith. Its been better the past few years as we have had little exposure in the media so this has been a good way off keeping the interest going, long may all the ITK info carry on as far as I'm concerned.
I don't get the hostility tbh. I was shown absolute first hand proof that FPP had agreed to purchase SAFC. How could any Sunderland supporter, on the planet, keep that to themselves. It wasn't even as if I'd been shown it in strict confidence, they were openly talking about it. I had people calling me all sorts and they still do every time a takeover is mentioned. Fortunately I'm the kind of person who gets a laugh out of them, whereas it might really upset some people. No wonder some are reluctant to post anything they hear.
