It will never be forgotten mate. That feeling when the 2nd goal hit the net was something special after years of ****e.
I think it's quite literally someone making a throwaway speculative comment without any proof at all behind it. Having said that, I personally would need to weigh up who it was before getting too carried away. I think it would be unfair and rash to consider everyone from the Middle East to be labelled the same as someone who clicks his fingers to get someone cut up alive or dozens beheaded.
as would all with any sense of decency but we all know the lure of the green stuff has best part of the world making 'just enough of the right noises' against that particular area while going along happily with all the sports events and making sure they get a lot of exposure...surely if 'the world' really wanted them to change then all it needs is a concerted effort to ignore the cash until they did alter their ways. but, we all know the answer is always money, just a shame south africa or ethiopia and the rest of the troubled countries did not have the oil and wealth.
Agreed. That's why I never mentioned monies, just that's where I heard they came from. Wheatsheaf seems to have been quiet today. I said before I'm in the wait and see group. Been here before. The excitement for me is a Championship campaign and the thought of Del and Rodney not being there.
I believe promotion to the championship will make them alot of money, so my guess is they will be away.
Pure greed is their motivation, they’ll hang on as long as possible, all this new investor talk is just that ……. TALK
The Championship saps money and cripples clubs. If Sunderland became stuck there it would be a disaster for Donald. How long are you expecting them to hang on.
Been reading through quite a bit of this thread and been thinking on all the speculation. I heard a while back about Adnoc looking at a sponsorship deal but nothing was mentioned about them buying the club but I guess things may have changed.
People forget that Donald and the others have to match any investment by KLD (in proportion to their share holding) If KLD decides he is going the really go for it with a huge investment, SD and the others have to find the money or get their shares diluted. SD and CM especially don't have the sort of cash that potentially could be needed, it would cripple them financially. They might want to stay, bit realistically they can't afford to stay. It's a perfect storm for someone to come in and get their shares at a sensible price.
"With Cardiff City in dire financial straits, it is not immediately clear why any new investor, or investors, would want to move now and take on the club's debts. While potential investors could wait for the club to go into administration before making a deal with administrators to create a new football club business - off-loading as much of the current club's debt as possible in the process - this could land the club with a points deduction."
They will be the first of a few championship clubs flirting with adminstration if they can't get costs down quickly. It's been mentioned before but most championship clubs need to reduce their wage bill / cut costs to sensible levels. We already have and have a solid base to build from. I honestly believe if we recruit well we will be absolutely flying while other clubs struggle financially to sort themselves out
Well Bonko did put pressure on PL to pass the deal, and he is not averse to a bit of "payment in kind"
