First of all mate i would say we all share the pain and we all want to be out of this godforsaken league, however i do have some queries regarding your post mate the home grown academy lads showing promise and even playing good stuff as you quote, then why sell them when we didn't need to Diamond Hawkes E Robson Hume Younger and then he goes and loans some of them them out only to bring them back, it was criminal the way we treated Younger now we are knackerd for defenders. Selling Flanagan before a replacement was and is downright stupid, an infantile mistake. Buying or loaning players who do not fit the gaps in the team makes me shake my head at the incompetence that's why we are so imbalanced. As far as Satori handing over voting rights that alone will not cause KLD to invest heavily, if the two clowns are not putting their side of the wedge in. what the legal aspect of not coughing up is I'm not qualified to answer. I must say i really enjoyed reading your thoughts, alas my personal view is KS has made and continues to make too many mistakes which cost us dearly and i think its him that makes the players heads drop ,just little snippets like he never say anything to the players in the tunnel not even a nod, strange behaviour
Likewise,I like any discussion with you and I always enjoy your posts. To take your last point first, even though it's only heresay it happened,it may be that KS takes the view that when the players are in the tunnel, they're focussed and prepared for the match by the Coach, and therefore no need,at that point,to add anything to it.....just a thought. We signed Jack Diamond to a long term deal and loaned him out to Harrogate, recalling him when we had injuries.....the same with Patterson, because we rate them and want to keep them. It seems clear that Hawkes,Robson and Younger were not as highly regarded for the future( which may prove to be a mistake...who knows?) and it may be,as with Flanagan and Hume,we did the right thing by the players and let them go to further their careers, when we'd made the decision they weren't going to earn a longer term contract with us. I can imagine what fans would be saying if we'd have turfed players out without looking after their future. As it seems, honouring a commitment to Flanagan was a mistake, without a replacement being actually signed, but, sometimes things don't work as you intend. I don't believe the "two clowns" have any relevance in our future.
another fine post and i can see the way you are thinking, what gets me at the moment is a transfer page which I'm going to post a link to for you, it shows nearly all are loans or free, which makes me think we don't have a pot to pee in, when you factor in the state of the pitch, I mean that's the main thing we need a good playing surface otherwise you may as well play on the town moor, which raises another point that you raised about the concerts, if its not just for a cash injection why do it if your a billionaire, you never get successful in football if your scratting around without splashing the cash, that's relegation territory if no cash flow. anyway i think if KLD wants to progress its time to speak to the family for a new DOF Thank you for a good read, its woke me up to our plight, ive been moping since we started playing **** and looking at reasons why thanks for opening my eyes. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/afc-sunderland/alletransfers/verein/289
If we're in the third division, looking to get out,it makes sense to sign players who we think will help us achieve promotion, but who we're not sure will make the step up if we do. We have a history of over-paying for players and giving them longer term contracts who just weren't up to them for one reason or another, and I'm glad that policy seems to have come to an end.It doesn't indicate we don't have a pot to piss in,just that we're being intelligent about the contracts we offer. The pitch is another thing....I think it's caught everyone by surprise. I know we've had problems with it before, but did anyone see it deteriorating to this extent? I don't think money is an issue....KLD has budgeted what he and his advisors think is right for a third division club, and, have looked to maximise revenue by putting on the concerts....probably agreed before the full state of the pitch became apparent.Given the financial penalties for cancelling will be huge,we need to get the concert **** out of the way and sort the pitch once and for all.No point in having a first class stadium and academy,if we're playing on a mud bath reminiscent of playing on Belle Vue in Consett when I was a kid nearly 60 years ago.! I want to add a caveat to all of this......an increase in the price of the season tickets will be a mistake! As fans,we're doing our bit.....30k+ crowds at home almost every week, and sold out away ends,is the proof. Given the cost of living increases each and everyone of us is having to face at the minute and likely to get worse over the next year,a price rise will not send the right signal of respecting us,and will likely reduce attendance to 25k or even less.....all depending on where we finish this season of course.
It would be a massive own goal to increase ST costs but it looks very likely after what Davison said at the fans meeting. Would be absolutely typical, no promotion, a cluster **** end to the season and then slapped with a price rise. They seriously need to consider their next move very very carefully. The fan sites have already ran articles on the potential price increase so it's not like they can't read the fans feelings on this one.
More bad news coming according to MadBob over the road. Of course he's infamous for usually being wrong...
If I didn’t know any better I would say someone from the inside is trying to damage SAFC with these leaks going to BOb. It’s doing nowt but fueling negativity and Ill feeling. With this latest bit of info I see even more bad feeling towards KLD
He is! And,he's a **** stirrer of the highest order using snippets of info....usually very wide of the truth....to feed his narcissism.
exactly. the number of cold, hard, indisputable facts around, and coming out of, the club are so few and far between they could have their AGM in a phone box.
Well, that link is absolute ****e. We paid money (real money) for Cirkin, Huggins, Matete (0.75m apparently), and Baath, so suggesting we haven't spent 'money' is way off target.
