Think Defoe was worded as “initial 6 months” as well? Off top of my head our only players under contract for next season are: GK - Patterson Def - Hume , Cirkin , Baath Mid - O’Nien, Matete , Neil, Evans Att Mid - Pritchard, Embleton, (option on Roberts) Striker - Stewart
He's not even good at that although he thinks he is. All pretentious phrases, learned at some college where they talk like that to each other. In the real world, people see through it for the rubbish it is; a way to deflect attention from your own deficiencies and limitations. Gordon Gobshites we always call them.
id love him to. My point was more a reluctant “I’ll get behind him if KLD is” comment. if I could choose he’d be gone
That's where a manager comes in and should havd a real say in a squad and team's make up. This bloke signs decent players mind, but he clearly doesn't understand about team balance. A manager would, but this bloke it seems is all powerful. He's a big problem.
So that's 13 'senior' players (at best) that we actually have under contract for next season that we own. Wow, some summer window coming up.
Aye. no idea who started it, and hard lines on all the Gordons! Just one of those alliterative things that people do I suppose.
When Speakman said “this is a 4 window project”. Can we all just remember that for the September edition of unfiltered when he calls it a “3 year journey”
That's how he comes over. Whatever anyone thought regarding Keane coming, you can only just imagine what he would have thought about working " under" a complete bullshitter like Speakman.
.Don't think many are arguing about the level of players brought in. I never have. But you have to get a balance. That will mean going the manager's way sometimes, especially in a Jan window. I don't see much of that having happened . This bloke should be back working with the young team, but I doubt his ego would allow it.
These type of people will say anything to defer judgement and responsibility. Journey, Philosophy, Plan, Project, Vision, Common Goal etc....I have no idea how Rotheram and Wigan have managed to even put a team out without thinking about that sewage all day.
That's what was said, however if you have any evidence to the contrary please post away. To be fair if LJ had players foisted on him that he didn't want I'm pretty sure we would have heard about it
I doubt there is evidence either way tbh. Mind, " final say" if that's what has been said, is different to a full say, in that he might be presented with a player and its a yes or no, but neither were his choices. Maybe we'll not find out. But the fact that Speakman openly said that looking for a manager need not be on his mind on deadline day tells you the sway this bloke has. Again, he has found good players, but they team is pitifully out of balance and over young and inexperienced. It was bound to dip, and now it's a slump. This bloke is a problem.
